AI Predicts the Q4 Winner Between XRP, ETH and BTC, and the Answer Might Surprise You

Key Takeaways

  • ChatGPT and Grok provide the strongest qualitative outlook for BTC in Q4.
  • Ethereum could outperform Bitcoin if investor demand broadens, according to several model scenarios.
  • XRP offers surprise upside, as ChatGPT’s central estimates imply gains of 19% for XRP, 18% for ETH, and 14% for BTC.

Bitcoin appears to be the strongest contender heading into the final quarter of 2026, according to responses from ChatGPT and Grok. But when their price scenarios are compared in terms of potential percentage gains, XRP emerges as a challenger.

Responses from ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Grok paint a broadly cautious picture for crypto through December. They repeatedly identify monetary policy, institutional demand, and investor sentiment as drivers, while differing on targets and conviction.

There is no unanimous winner. Bitcoin attracts the strongest qualitative backing, Ethereum offers a potential middle ground, and XRP produces some of the largest hypothetical returns despite receiving the weakest confidence assessments.

Bitcoin Wins on Confidence, but Not Necessarily Returns

ChatGPT describes its Q4 outlook as “cautiously bullish,” setting Bitcoin’s year-end estimate at $98,000 and citing a starting price of approximately $86,300.

That implies roughly 13.6% upside. Its base-case range runs from $90,000 to $105,000, with a bullish scenario of $115,000-$125,000.

Grok similarly calls Bitcoin the most resilient of the three assets. Its base case of $95,000–$105,000 suggests an upside of approximately 10.1%- 21.7% relative to ChatGPT’s $86,300 reference price.

Both responses connect Bitcoin’s prospects to institutional investment and improving financial conditions. However, these are the models’ explanations for their scenarios, rather than independently established predictors of future returns.

Claude is more restrained, offering a $75,000-$95,000 base-case range. That spans both losses and gains relative to the same reference price, undercutting any claim of an across-the-board bullish consensus.

Gemini’s response introduces another complication: its narrative cites bullish levels of $85,000-$90,000, while its summary table extends the range to $95,000. Those targets overlap with prices quoted by the other models, suggesting inconsistent starting assumptions.

Ethereum Offers More Upside in Several Scenarios

ChatGPT places Ethereum’s central estimate at $3,200, compared with its cited starting price of $2,716.

The implied gain of approximately 17.8% exceeds Bitcoin’s central-estimate upside. Its bullish range of $3,800-$4,300 would represent approximately 39.9%-58.3% appreciation.

Grok’s Ethereum base case is higher, at $3,200-$3,600, translating to approximately 17.8%- 32.5% upside from that same reference price. Its bull case ranges from $4,000 to $4,500.

Gemini prediction

Gemini offers a bullish target of $3,000-$3,500, while Claude’s $2,200-$3,300 base case again allows for either a decline or a recovery.

The responses generally frame Ethereum as a beneficiary if demand expands beyond Bitcoin. They mention staking, network activity, and institutional flows, but do not provide a standardized method for translating these factors into prices.

Consequently, Ethereum ranks ahead of Bitcoin in potential percentage gains in some scenarios, while Bitcoin retains stronger backing for its perceived resilience.

XRP Is the Surprise Contender on Percentage Upside

XRP’s central ChatGPT estimate is $1.80, against a quoted starting price of $1.51. That implies approximately 19.2% upside, the largest central-estimate gain among ChatGPT’s three selections.

Grok’s XRP base case of $1.80-$2.20 implies roughly 19.2%-45.7% appreciation using the same baseline. Its bullish range of $2.50-$3.00 would translate to approximately 65.6%- 98.7% gains.

Those figures make XRP the surprise contender if “winner” means the biggest potential price increase.

Grok prediction

Yet the accompanying commentary is considerably less enthusiastic. ChatGPT assigns XRP lower conviction, while Grok describes it as the least likely asset to lead a broad rally.

Claude’s $1.00-$1.90 base case includes substantial downside. Gemini supplies a bullish range of $1.90-$2.50, but does not explicitly select XRP as the quarter’s winner.

The distinction is crucial: a larger hypothetical return does not establish a higher probability of achieving it.

Why the Forecasts Do Not Produce a Clear Winner

The four responses are not directly comparable forecasts. ChatGPT specifies Dec. 31 scenarios, Claude offers rough quarter-end estimates, Gemini discusses target levels, and Grok presents scenario ranges.

Their quoted starting prices also differ, particularly for XRP. The percentage calculations above therefore use ChatGPT’s reference prices consistently rather than treating each model’s snapshot as interchangeable.

None supplies a validated forecasting record or calibrated probabilities.

The resulting verdict depends on the question: Bitcoin leads on stated confidence, while XRP leads in several upside calculations. Ethereum sits between them, with meaningful projected gains but wide uncertainty.

The surprise is that the models’ preferred asset is not necessarily the one their own numbers suggest could deliver the biggest return.
