Key Takeaways
  • XRP Seoul’s Oct. 3 agenda includes a special announcement involving Ripple and XRP Asia.
  • A bank deployment or regional expansion initiative could strengthen the bullish case, but none has been confirmed yet.
  • Vincent Van Code’s $100 forecast depends on growing confidence over three years.

Ripple’s upcoming appearance in Seoul has served as a catalyst for XRP bulls, spurring ambitious price predictions, including those from software engineer Vincent Van Code and commentator Pompius, who call for $100.

The October 3 conference program promises a “Special Announcement: What’s Coming Next for the XRP Ecosystem in Asia,” featuring Ripple’s senior ecosystem growth manager Tatsuya Kohrogi and XRP Asia President Sabrina Tachdjian.

For holders hoping adoption can drive the token higher, the question is whether the announcement will identify a business that uses the asset or something entirely different.

What Is Scheduled in Seoul?

The announcement slot runs from 2:15 p.m. to 2:35 p.m., immediately after a discussion about cross-border payments and tokenized deposits.

That preceding panel includes representatives from Ripple, K Bank, Kyobo Securities, Woori Bank, and JB Bank.

Ripple President Monica Long is also scheduled to discuss XRP’s role in institutional finance earlier in the day.

The financial-sector lineup gives the event an institutional focus.

However, details of what will be announced are likely to remain secret until the conference slot.

What Could XRP Bulls Hope the Announcement Will Be?

A bullish reading of the agenda points to three possible rumors suggested by the event’s themes.

The strongest would be a live payments deployment involving XRP.

A named institution, launch date, and explanation of XRP’s settlement role would give investors something concrete to assess.

Another possibility is a tokenization project.

This could involve a bank or securities firm bringing financial assets onto XRPL, thereby expanding the network’s institutional footprint.

A regional ecosystem initiative is also a rumor that bulls are hoping for.

Developer funding or an Asia-focused partnership network could help projects reach users — its price implications would depend on what those projects eventually build.

The announcement’s broad wording leaves all three possibilities open, but it’s also likely to be something else altogether.

Where Does the $100 XRP Prediction Fit?

Vincent Van Code and Pompius’s $100 forecast is one of the many extreme price predictions currently circulating through XRP bulls.

In a Sept. 27 post previously covered by CCN, the software engineer and XRP community member Van Code argued that greater confidence could carry XRP through repeated rallies and pullbacks to $100 or more within three years.

His central condition was:

“Once full confidence kicks in.”

Commentator Pumpius’s April forecast tied $100 XRP to seven conditions, including billions of dollars in weekly ETF inflows, trillions in cross-border payment volume, and a supply squeeze.

Favorable regulation and a Bitcoin-led bull market would also need to support that expansion.

There has been progress, and XRP ETFs have attracted less than $2 billion since launch — below the billions each week envisaged in the forecast.

Ripple says its payments service has processed more than $100 billion globally.

The Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act on Sept. 15, while Bitcoin’s climb above $85,000 still leaves it below the new record highs Pumpius’s scenario requires.

An announcement in Seoul could strengthen one part of the adoption argument, but it remains to be seen if the other conditions can be met.
