Key Takeaways

  • XRPL’s RWA capitalization grew more than 60-fold to $2.46 billion between January 1 and September 30, 2026.
  • Justoken’s energy token JMWH accounts for approximately $2.2 billion, or 89.4% of the total.
  • However, a higher tokenized asset value does not automatically translate into deeper liquidity or greater demand for XRP.

The XRP Ledger’s real-world asset market expanded more than 60-fold during the first nine months of 2026, but a single commodity token accounts for nearly 90% of its value.

XRPL’s RWA capitalization reached $2.46 billion on Sept. 30, up from $40.8 million on Jan. 1, according to Token Relations’ latest Ripple and XRP overview.

The increase places XRPL sixth among blockchains by RWA market capitalization.

However, the composition reveals a concentrated market: Justoken’s JMWH accounts for approximately $2.2 billion, while Ondo Finance’s OUSG contributes another $189.9 million.

JMWH Drives Nearly 90% of XRPL’s RWA Value

The figures put XRPL’s September RWA market at roughly 60.3 times its January size, representing approximately $2.42 billion in additional value.

JMWH dominates that expansion. Its $2.2 billion capitalization represents about 89.4% of the September total, leaving approximately $260 million across other assets.

RWA.xyz describes JMWH as an energy-backed digital asset, with each token representing one megawatt-hour.

The underlying commitments draw on energy companies’ generation capacity, linking the token to electricity contracts rather than a conventional cryptocurrency investment. The tracker classifies JMWH as a “represented” asset.

That distinction matters when interpreting the headline. The value of tokenized commercial commitments does not establish that investors deposited an equivalent amount of fresh cash or that traders can readily exchange the entire supply.

Justoken’s energy business also extends beyond token issuance. In March, the company announced a Partnership with Argentine electricity producer YPF Luz to launch Enertoken, backed by more than $800 million in tokenized energy assets.

The companies said the platform lets corporate customers contract, manage, and monitor electricity digitally, including consumption tracking, billing, and reporting.

The project illustrates how tokenization can support existing commercial operations alongside investment products.

Ondo’s OUSG Provides the Second Major Pillar

Ondo Finance’s OUSG ranks second in the September ranking, with $189.9 million on XRPL.

That represents approximately 7.7% of the ledger’s reported RWA value. Together, JMWH and OUSG account for around 97.2%, leaving roughly $70.1 million for the remaining assets.

The two products serve different purposes. JMWH represents energy commitments, while OUSG gives eligible investors exposure to short-term US Treasuries through a portfolio of institutional funds.

Ondo launched OUSG on XRPL in June 2025, enabling qualified purchasers to subscribe and redeem around the clock using Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin. The launch included $30 million in committed total value locked.

That arrangement links a dollar-settled asset to a yield-bearing financial product, giving institutions another way to manage treasury balances on-chain.

OUSG’s smaller share does not diminish its distinct role. Its presence adds government-debt exposure to an ecosystem whose largest asset centers on commodities.

Nevertheless, two products account for almost the entire September market, showing that XRPL’s rapid expansion has yet to produce a broadly diversified RWA base.

A Bigger Market Does Not Automatically Mean More Liquidity

The 60-fold increase establishes a substantial expansion in recorded asset value. It does not, by itself, measure trading depth, investor participation, or demand for XRP.

Market capitalization, transaction volume, and decentralized finance TVL capture different aspects of activity.

Large tokenized commitments can increase the first metric without producing equivalent liquidity in lending pools or secondary markets.

Concentration also makes the aggregate sensitive to individual issuers. Changes in JMWH’s supply, valuation or outstanding commitments could materially alter XRPL’s total, even if other projects continue growing.

For XRP holders, the practical question concerns how these assets use the network: whether they generate recurring payments, financing activity, and liquid markets.

XRPL has achieved scale quickly. Broader adoption will require more issuers and sustained activity beyond its two dominant tokens.
