Meghan Markle has finally hit the big time. The pitching from her royal husband has paid off!
You go, girl! Nothing screams “strong, independent woman” more than landing a gig because you married up in the world.
But seriously, congratulations to Meghan Markle. Some huge names have done voice-over work for Disney.
Of course, that particular gig requires no real acting ability, but still, it’s something! And I do have to commend her for donating the fee to charity.
Most level-headed people recognize that Meghan Markle only landed this position due to her elevated profile as a member of the royal family.
A fringe element of her fanbase is reacting a bit delusionally, though. I’m looking at you, Sussex Squad!
The clue is in the credits, people! Meghan isn’t listed by Disney as Meghan Markle. She’s credited as Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.
In short, it isn’t Meghan Markle that Disney wanted to work with. It’s the Duchess of Sussex.
The appeal is in having someone who’s connected to the world-famous, highly respected British Royal family involved in one of their productions.
Still unconvinced that the royal family provided Meghan with this new-found profile? Let’s do a simple fact-check.
Before Meghan latched onto Prince Harry, her resume wasn’t quite so impressive.
Most of her acting career consisted of bouncing around various television shows, doing an episode here and there.
Of course, she played the role of Rachel Zane in Suits, but she wasn’t a leading character by any stretch. I’d also be remiss if I excluded Meghan’s role as a “briefcase babe” in Deal or No Deal!
I’m sure we’ve all seen the social media posts by so-called fans of Meghan’s, wishing death upon not just Prince Charles, but also Queen Elizabeth. They’re truly disgusting.
I hope that the more intelligent among Meghan’s fanbase will actually thank Prince Charles, Queen Elizabeth, and the rest of Prince Harry’s family. They accepted her into the most famous family on the planet and gave her the platform to accomplish what she will do over the next few years.
I’ve always said that Meghan Markle is smart. She’s used her looks to marry her way up in life. No real shame in that, I guess. It’s 2020, and women are allowed to be just as cunning and manipulative as men!
But it would be nice if her fans at least acknowledged the truth about how she made her way to the top.
Maybe it’s appropriate that she’s going to “star” in a Disney flick. After all, most of her cult-like fanbase is living in a fairytale.
