Key Takeaways
  • Cross River has integrated RLUSD on the XRPL into its banking platform.
  • Wealth coach Jacob Metzger reportedly forecasts a $100 price for XRP by 2030 as part of his bearish scenario.
  • Stablecoin payment growth does not automatically translate into substantial XRP buying.

Ripple is expanding its reach into banking infrastructure through a partnership with Cross River, as another bullish XRP forecast sets a $100 price target.

The bank’s October 15 announcement brings Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin on the XRPL into its core banking platform.

The development offers a concrete adoption milestone — but leaves open how much demand it could generate for XRP itself.

Cross River Brings RLUSD Into Core Banking

Fintech customers can access RLUSD, ACH, and real-time payments through a single API connection, according to Cross River.

The integration supports movements between dollars and RLUSD, including cross-border payments and treasury transfers around the clock.

“Businesses shouldn’t have to rely on several different providers to move money across the globe,” said Adam Goller, Cross River’s head of fintech banking.

The bank says customers can now access the service, although it is available in only certain states.

Metzger Predicts $100–$1,000 XRP Price by 2030

Wealth coach Jacob Metzger has outlined his first public XRP price forecast, putting his bearish scenario at $100 by 2030 and his bullish case at $1,000 or more.

In an Oct. 13 video posted on X, Metzger said he had finished accumulating XRP after roughly six years of purchases.

“To finally reach my target today is immensely satisfying,” Metzger said.

Metzger now plans to direct fresh capital toward real estate, gold, silver and other digital assets, including XLM, HBAR and Quant.

He also highlighted SpaceX as a high-conviction investment.

Despite ending his XRP purchases, Metzger maintained that its “repricing is inevitable.”

Does RLUSD Adoption Mean More XRP Price Demand?

RLUSD and XRP perform different roles.

RLUSD is the dollar-backed asset being integrated for payments, meanwhile XRP is the ledger’s native token, used for transaction costs and reserve requirements.

XRPL documentation explains that transaction fees destroy a small amount of XRP, while reserves require accounts to maintain minimum XRP balances.

However, the value of a stablecoin payment should not be confused with the amount of XRP needed to process it.

Moving a large dollar sum on the ledger does not, by itself, mean an equivalent sum must be purchased in the token.

While more transactions can increase network usage, they do not produce proportionate buying pressure on its native token on their own.

Ripple’s Banking Push Follows DriveWealth Deal

Cross River’s announcement follows another partnership that has prompted questions about how Ripple’s commercial expansion benefits XRP holders.

As CCN reported, Ripple’s recent agreement with DriveWealth puts RLUSD settlement and custody services at the center of its push into global investing infrastructure.

Some XRP supporters questioned whether that arrangement would generate significant demand for the token, highlighting a recurring tension between Ripple’s business growth and investors’ expectations.

The Cross River agreement raises a similar question.

Making RLUSD easier for financial businesses to access could strengthen Ripple’s position in payments, but assessing the benefit to XRP requires evidence of how those businesses use the token.

Ripple is also expanding access at the application level.

CCN previously covered its partnership with Stripe-owned Privy, which brings programmable wallet infrastructure to the XRPL.

Metzger Joins a Growing List of Extreme XRP Price Forecasts

Metzger’s $1,000-plus scenario joins other aggressive predictions already circulating among XRP supporters.

CCN recently examined EasyA co-founder Dom Kwok’s $1,000 XRP forecast, along with commentator BarriC’s $750 scenario, which would imply a market capitalization exceeding $47 trillion.

Other forecasts have already missed their deadlines.

Jake Claver previously predicted $100 by the end of 2025, a target that failed to materialize.

However, he also maintained that the token could reach $10,000 by late 2026 or early 2027.

Skepticism has also come from within Ripple’s own ranks.

As CCN reported in January, David Schwartz, Ripple’s former chief technology officer, questioned expectations of $50–$100 XRP within the next few years.

“If many rational people believed that there was a 10% chance that XRP hit $100 within a few years, they definitely wouldn’t sell very much today at much less than $10,” he wrote.

Some holders pushed back against Schwartz himself, arguing that his remarks undermined confidence in XRP’s price.
