BNY Adds XRP Custody as Bull Calls $26 Price Target a ‘Low Ball’

Key Takeaways

  • BNY now supports custody of XRP and RLUSD for eligible institutional clients.
  • Digital Asset Investor reportedly called a $26.09 XRP forecast “a major lowball.”
  • Reaching that price would require a roughly 1,862% rally and imply a $1.65 trillion circulating market capitalization.

Investment company BNY has added XRP to its digital-asset custody platform, expanding institutional access as bullish commentators debate whether a price approaching $26 is ambitious enough.

The global bank now supports both XRP and Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin, according to an Oct. 27 announcement.

It comes as a famed XRP commentator and digital asset investor dismissed a $26.09 forecast attributed to CryptoRover as “too conservative.”

However, even that supposedly modest target would require XRP to increase almost twentyfold from its current price.

BNY Expands XRP Custody Support

The expansion builds on BNY’s existing role as RLUSD’s primary reserve custodian and its custody relationship with Ripple Prime.

Ripple President Monica Long said the focus was shifting toward making tokenized assets “usable for payments and collateral across financial markets.”

BNY also plans to support additional XRPL-issued investment products and to work toward enabling clients to mint and redeem RLUSD directly through the bank.

Separately, Ripple and BNY are exploring supply-chain finance with working-capital platform C2FO.

“We’re moving past the initial issuance of assets onchain – now, it’s all about making these tokenized assets usable for payments and collateral across financial markets,” Long added.

XRP Bull Calls $26.09 Target a ‘Major Low Ball’

Digital Asset Investor challenged a $26.09 XRP forecast attributed to Crypto Rover, arguing the token could reach that level sooner than projected — and eventually climb further.

In an Oct. 25 video posted on X, the commentator pointed to Crypto Rover’s five-to-ten-year outlook.

“He puts an XRP price of $26.09, which I think is a major low ball. But I still like the price,” Digital Asset Investor said.

“I just think we’ll get there a lot faster and it could get a lot higher.”

The comments came two days before BNY’s custody announcement.

What Would It Take for XRP to Reach $26.09?

At around $1.33, XRP would still need to rally approximately 1,862% to reach $26.09.

Measure Implied result
Price increase from $1.33 Approximately 1,862%
Multiple of the starting price 19.6 times
Market capitalization at unchanged circulating supply $1.65 trillion
Valuation using the 100 billion maximum supply $2.61 trillion
Increase above the $3.65 record Approximately 615%

Calculations use rounded market data and assume unchanged supply.

The circulating valuation would rise by roughly $1.57 trillion from its present level.

XRP’s market capitalization currently stands at approximately $84.2 billion.

At $26.09, that would climb to roughly $1.65 trillion—an increase of about $1.57 trillion, putting XRP slightly above Bitcoin’s current market value of approximately $1.62 trillion, assuming XRP’s circulating supply remained unchanged.

From $27 to $1 Million: Recent Extreme Price Calls

The $26.09 debate follows a series of extraordinary forecasts that CCN has covered in recent weeks.

One of the most shared is CryptoBull’s $27 end-of-month deadline.

Meanwhile, Amonyx shared a $45.50 “supercycle” chart.

An Oct. 19 post circulated a projection attributed to Mr. Gert, comparing earlier XRP cycles with a possible extended breakout.

Egrag Crypto outlined $60 and $180 scenarios.

His Sept. 29 analysis used two measurements of a long-term chart structure, with confirmation above roughly $3.50–$4 needed first.

The same coverage examined Vincent Van Code’s separate call for $100 or more within three years.

Pumpius’s $100 year-end scenario depends on multiple conditions.

Originally outlined in April and revisited by CCN in September, it envisages billions of dollars in weekly ETF inflows alongside much wider adoption.

That report also covered Crypto Patel’s $10–$20 range, Ash Crypto’s $10 call, Egrag’s separate $50 scenario, Van Code’s AI-generated $500-plus scenario for 2035, and Dom Kwok’s discussion of $1,000 XRP.

Jake Claver’s forecasts reach substantially further.

After backing more than $750 before the end of 2026, Claver reiterated a $10,000 target for late 2026 or early 2027.
