Tron’s Justin Sun Gives Official Statement on Police Incident

Justin Sun and Tron had some strange news out this week regarding their potential entanglement with the Beijing police. However, on further review, it looks like the police are protecting the Tron building.
Fake News or Fake Investment Scheme?
Those who feel bereft by a scam run on the Tron blockchain (“Wave Field”) may get some solace in the fact that Justin Sun is thinking a lot of you. His initial response didn’t bring good cheer:

“The very heart of TRON’s mission is to promote a fair and open internet that does not stifle discussion and dissent, however I also believe there’s a heightened responsibility from those disseminating news to be fair AND accurate. The twisting of events did nothing to help people who in some cases saw their life savings wiped out, while it hurt investors in the TRON community who saw the value of their holdings decline on fake news.”
In a Trump-esque move, Sun calls out the “fake news” media who promoted a story that wasn’t verified. CCN.com, like most professional outlets, posted a correction – not just an update to the original article but a new one explaining the sequence of events.
Tron Casinos
Sun took no responsibility for the Tron Network’s dominant usage as a gambling platform. As the network matures, some casinos continue to push the limits.
One of the most famous Tron casinos, TronBet, recently launched Texas Hold Em poker and slots – all delivered and decided on-chain.
The stance is contrary to a prior statement from the Tron Foundation, which promised that it would work with the Japanese government to combat illegal blockchain gambling. For Sun or the Tron Foundation to pledge anything, they must have the power to do something.
The logic of the impoverished Chinese investors is simple enough, then: we lost our money in a scam, not even gambling, and you won’t act on that?
It’s unknown what, if anything, Sun can do besides ensure authorities have help using the blockchain to track the scammers.
