  • What’s the deal with Elon and Dogecoin?
  • What exactly is X Corp?

Elon Musk is back at it again by overtaking tech news. The ‘Chief Twit’ announced on Sunday that he will be rebranding Twitter to X. Curiously enough, Musk asked the Twitter community to design the logo for Twitter’s new brand. However, eagle-eyed followers also noticed that while Musk jumped on board with the rebrand on his personal account, he also added a crypto-easter egg.

While the rebranding implementation seemed to happen rather quickly, it undoubtedly had been planned for a long time. The Tesla & Space X CEO has been far from secretive about his fascination with the letter X.

More curiously, however, is that Musk firmly decided to include the Dogecoin(Ð) symbol alongside Twitter’s new logo (𝕏). Which raises the question: Why is Elon Musk still attached to Dogecoin? Does he truly see it as the future of crypto?

Elon Musk managed to include the letter X in all of his business ventures. His automobile company Tesla managed to include the Model X within its wittily named lineup “S3XY”. And, of course, he managed to name include an X in his space exploration company SpaceX.

His fascination with the letter X even shows up in his own child’s name, X Æ A-12.

Why Dogecoin?

Elon Musk’s sage with Dogecoin is one of those things on the internet that many can’t interpret. The world’s richest man actually got himself in trouble with he faced a lawsuit regarding market manipulation when it comes to this specific token.

When Musk temporarily changed Twitter’s logo to the Doge logo, sources claimed that he sold a significant portion of the token for profit. And, he was hit with a lawsuit that demanded $258 billion in reparations. However, Musk’s legal team refuted the claims, saying that Musk was not in control of the wallets that sold Dogecoin at the time.

Elon simply explained his attachment to Dogecoin by saying “Dogecoin is my favorite cryptocurrency because it has the best humor and has dogs”.

Elon now has the Doge trading symbol Ð next to Twitter’s new rebranding symbol 𝕏 in the location section of his profile.

Moreover, his EV company Tesla accepts Dogecoin as a form of payment, dedicating a separate FAQ page on the company’s website specifically for the memecoin.
