Key Takeaways
  • Gert van Lagen’s bullish chart projection puts XRP near $50, implying a roughly $3 trillion valuation.
  • Meritz Securities has partnered with Ripple to explore custody and tokenization in South Korea.
  • However, the agreement does automatically establish demand for XRP.

A fresh $50 XRP prediction is drawing attention as Ripple secures a partnership with South Korea’s Meritz Securities, adding an institutional development to an ambitious price forecast.

With the token trading around $1.47 as of the Oct. 7 reporting, the target would require its price to multiply by approximately 34.

The brokerage agreement offers a potential route for Ripple’s technology into Korean capital markets, although its impact on XRP remains unconfirmed.

Why Van Lagen Sees $50 Price

In an Oct. 6 X post, analyst Gert van Lagen outlined a monthly symmetrical triangle with a target near $50.

He described the scenario as “normal bull market dynamics for Ripple.”

The chart highlights resistance around $2.10, with rising support beneath recent trading levels.

That leaves a substantial hurdle before the projected acceleration; XRP must first overcome nearby resistance and sustain the breakout.

Van Lagen referenced XRP’s sharp gains against Bitcoin in 2017.

His comparison combines a return to an XRP/BTC ratio near 0.00011 with Bitcoin at roughly $450,000, producing an XRP price close to $50.

What a $3 Trillion XRP Valuation Requires

Using $1.47 as the starting point, reaching $50 would represent approximately 3,301% upside.

The valuation maths also exposes a tough assumption.

A $3 trillion market capitalization at $50 would mean roughly 60 billion tokens in circulation.

If the circulating supply increases before the target is reached, the same price would produce a higher market capitalization.

XRP’s maximum supply is 100 billion tokens; applying $50 to that ceiling produces a fully diluted valuation of $5 trillion.

For perspective, a $3 trillion market capitalization would put a token above Bitcoin’s recent valuation of roughly $1.7 trillion — making it the largest crypto if other prices remained unchanged.

The $5 trillion fully diluted figure would place XRP alongside the world’s biggest corporate valuations, although it would still fall below Nvidia’s $5.8 trillion market capitalization.

Ripple Lands Meritz Securities Partnership

Meritz Securities announced its partnership with Ripple on Oct. 7, according to Seoul Economic Daily.

The agreement was signed on Oct. 1 in Seoul, with Meritz Chief Executive Jang Won-jae and Ripple President Monica Long attending.

Ripple Custody and tokenization infrastructure could serve South Korea’s capital markets.

Cooperation will begin under existing rules, with expansion contingent on the evolving regulatory framework.

Ripple’s product supports crypto and tokenized assets, while its tokenization tools allow institutions to issue and manage assets on blockchain infrastructure.

Meritz is also reviewing potential businesses involving digital-asset spot ETFs, tokenized securities, trading platforms, and won-denominated stablecoins.

The reported agreement does not identify an XRP purchase commitment or announce a commercial product launch.

It therefore again leaves the token-demand question open.

For bullish holders, the next meaningful development will be evidence that the service creates sustained demand for XRP.

Until that emerges, the latest partnership offers limited grounds for assessing van Lagen’s $50 forecast.
