Microsoft is hosting what it deems its ‘biggest Inside Xbox ever’ broadcast tomorrow at X019, held at the Copper Box Arena in London.
The stream kicks off at 8 PM GMT/3 PM ET/12 PM PT and features a mouthwatering roll call of announcements and reveals that should please Xbox players out there.
Microsoft says we’ll get news on no less than twelve games from Xbox Game Studios as well as world premiere game reveals. Alongside Xbox will unveil what it’s calling ‘big news’ for the Xbox Game Pass and an update on Microsoft’s cloud streaming venture, Project xCloud. As always, the company says they’ll be a few surprises.
Developers Rare, Obsidian, Ninja Theory, inXile, Mojang, Respawn Entertainment, Annapurna Interactive, and Devolver Digital are slated for an appearance.
Titles confirmed to feature during the Inside Xbox at X019 are Wasteland 4, Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Minecraft Dungeons, Sea of Thieves, CrossfireX, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
The reveals are more or less guaranteed to be first-party exclusives. Xbox Game Pass should get a bevy of new titles added to its already impressive catalog. It’s all but customary at this point.
As for specific titles, a release date for Age of Empires IV is almost a given. A meta-game over the official Age of Empires portal involving a countdown to tomorrow and an anagram of developer Relic Entertainment make it practically an inevitability. A tweet on Monday from Xbox billed X019 as an ‘event for the ages.’ The reference couldn’t be more explicit.
It would also make sense in terms of promoting Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition, which launches tomorrow after some pretty stellar reviews across the board.
We’ve known about CrossfireX for some time and Xbox has confirmed it for the event. But, we’ve yet to have a proper reveal, so expect something big on that front.
Xbox has done well to keep the hype train going for next year’s Project Scarlett console. We imagine it will drop in a few teasers during tomorrow’s broadcast. A price point or even a first look at the console in the flesh would go down a treat.
We can’t write off an update or a fresh trailer for presumed Scarlett launch title, Halo Infinite, either.
