Call of Duty Warzone’s ‘Temporary’ 200-Player Bloodbath is Annoying

Call of Duty Warzone Season 4 is here. With it comes a whole spate of new content. One of those new features is a massive 200-player battle mode .
Combat in Warzone is sure to be even more hectic than ever before. The only issue is that for some reason, Activision has decided to make this a limited-time feature.
If 200-player battles are possible in Call of Duty Warzone, why on earth are they only a temporary addition?
Call of Duty Warzone Should Just Keep 200-Player Battles
200-player battles being added to Warzone post-launch is an excellent move. It wasn’t so long ago that having this sort of player count was considered a selling point for an entire game . Now it can be added after the fact.
If it’s possible to add this number of players in a single match, it seems crazy to take that away again. Why would they not want Warzone to have as many features as possible?
It’s not even like Activision will be able to sell it on as DLC or in-game purchases afterward, either. Once someone has been given away for free, it becomes incredibly difficult to sell it later.
Is This Just a Marketing Ploy?
The only way this time limit makes sense is if Activision is using it as a ploy to pull in new players. I imagine that many gamers may flock to Call of Duty Warzone after hearing this news.
If that is the case, then the time limit is a load of rubbish. It’ll create some decent FOMO and draw in players. Then they’ll take it away for a few months and bring it back again in another temporary event.
We can probably expect that cycle for the rest of Warzone’s lifespan primarily if it works and draws in large numbers of players. If it doesn’t work, they might not bother removing it at all. Only time will tell.
