From Backer to Builder
YGG, a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) and gaming guild best known for supporting play-to-earn communities globally, has invested in dozens of Web3 games over the years.
With YGG Play, the organization is looking to take the lead in developing and publishing games that align with the crypto-native ethos.
In a statement, Gabby Dizon, cofounder of Yield Guild, said that they have been observing how the Web3 gaming industry has evolved over the past four years.
“YGG Play, which is specifically targeting the Casual Degen market, is our expression of everything we’ve learned, starting with our first game, LOL Land,” Dizon added.
LOL Land, a Web3 Game for the Casual Degen
LOL Land features recognizable Pudgy Penguins characters, four uniquely themed boards, and a $10 million YGG token prize pool.
It’s built on the Abstract Chain, the proprietary network from Igloo Inc., parent company of Pudgy Penguins.
Prior to launch, LOL Land drew more than 116,000 pre-registrations, signaling strong demand for casual Web3 games with real rewards.
LOL Land blends casual gameplay with crypto rewards.
Players roll through four different game boards—YGG City, Beach Day, Carnival, and Ice World Wonderland—each decked out with characters inspired by Web3 community members like Aaron Teng and Rusk0
There are two play modes:
- Free Play: Unlimited rolls with no token rewards.
- Premium Mode: Players purchase rolls and collect points to win a share of the $10 million YGG token pool.
