  • Destiny’s Child singer, Kelly Rowland is pregnant with her second child at the age of 39.
  • She told Men’s Health that being close to 40 and pregnant, she has to take care of herself.
  • This isn’t the first time a woman, or a celebrity, has gotten pregnant late in life. If they can do it, Rowland can too.

Adding to the already growing number of celebrities who are announcing they’re pregnant, Destiny’s Child’s own Kelly Rowland has also announced she’s expecting . Only Rowland is 39, an age typically thought to be too late to have a child.

It is said that if you wait to have a child during your last couple of childbearing years, there could be more complications for the mother and the child. But if you plan to take care of yourself, as Rowland does, you’ll more than likely be fine.

Waiting to have children has become a trend in America . Women are either waiting for the right moment when their education is over or they have a good job. For celebrities, it tends to be a waiting game until they get far enough in their career.

So Rowland’s pregnancy shouldn’t be too much of a shock, many celebrities have been where she is.

The Top Five Celebrities Who Had Babies In Their Forties.

1) Halle Berry

For a while, we didn’t know if Halle Berry would ever have a child. She’d struggled a lot with dating and marriage in the past, but when she met French Canadian model, Gabriel Aubry, in 2005, things were looking up for her. Three years later they had their daughter Nahla, in 2008, when Berry was 41.

Following a horrendous custody battle after the pair split and a domestic violence incident between Aubry and Berry’s new boyfriend, Olivier Martinez, Berry had her second child, Maceo, with Martinez. This time she was 47.

Berry raved about her decision to wait until she was older to have her kids, telling Us Weekly:

You’re so much more ready to be a parent after 40 than when you’re 20. You know yourself better. You’ve done a lot of things for yourself, selfishly. When you wait later in life, you can really put your kids forward I think in a more meaningful way.

Berry told Ellen DeGeneres that her second pregnancy was a miracle because she was technically premenopausal.
