Ripple has revealed that asset managers are preparing to use an upcoming XRP Ledger feature, providing a new institutional development that has resurfaced one of XRP’s wildest forecasts.

Asset Managers Prepare for Batch V1.1

Ayo Akinyele, head of engineering at RippleX, told CoinDesk that Ripple expects to reveal work involving “key asset managers” after Batch V1.1 goes live.

He said commercial projects are already being developed with the feature in mind, although Ripple has not named the companies or disclosed what they intend to launch.

Batch V1.1 allows an account to bundle up to 8 transactions into a single operation.

Its most significant institutional use case is delivery-versus-payment, in which the transfer of an asset and its payment are linked.

For example, instead of one party delivering a tokenized asset and then waiting for the buyer’s payment, Batch can ensure that both sides settle together.

If either transaction fails, neither is completed.

Exchanges and marketplaces could also combine a customer transaction with a platform fee rather than processing them separately.

The amendment currently has support from 30 of the XRP Ledger’s 35 tracked validators, exceeding the 28 votes required to begin its activation countdown.

It is projected to activate shortly after 14:06 UTC on Sept. 29, provided support remains above 80% for the entire 14-day period.

Why Batch V1.1 Needed a Second Attempt

Batch V1.1 replaces an earlier version that was withdrawn after researchers discovered a critical problem with its signature-validation process.

The vulnerability could, under specific conditions, have allowed transactions from another account to be inserted without the account holder’s authorization.

However, the amendment had not been activated on the live ledger, meaning the vulnerable code never governed mainnet transactions, and no user funds were exposed.

RippleX subsequently redesigned parts of the signing and authorization system and expanded its security testing.

Does More XRPL Activity Mean More XRP Demand?

Batch V1.1 clearly expands what institutions can build on the XRP Ledger. However, what remains unclear is how much of that activity will require institutions to buy and hold XRP.

XRPL transactions consume XRP fees, while accounts generally require XRP reserves.

However, those requirements can be tiny compared with the value of the assets moving across the network.

For example, an asset manager could potentially use Batch to exchange a tokenized security for a stablecoin without keeping a multibillion-dollar XRP position.

For Batch V1.1 to materially support an extreme XRP price thesis, institutions would need to use XRP as a key settlement.

AI Scenario Targets $500 XRP by 2035

Software engineer Vincent Van Code published his $500 scenario on X on April 22 after conducting an iterative study using large language models, primarily Grok.

The model produced a potential path of:

  • $6–$10 in 2026.
  • $100–$200 by 2030.
  • $500 or more by 2035.

Van Code repeatedly described the predictions as AI-generated outputs, with circumstances progressing largely according to plan.

Those circumstances included the passage of the CLARITY Act, continued favorable US crypto policy, significant international expansion by Ripple and quantum-resistant XRPL upgrades around 2028.

The model also assumed rapid growth in AI payments and non-bank decentralized finance, eventually positioning XRP as core infrastructure.

However, one of those assumptions has already failed.

The US Senate rejected cloture on the CLARITY Act by 49 votes to 50 on Sept. 15, leaving it well short of the 60 votes required to advance.

What Would a $500 XRP Price Mean?

With XRP trading around $1.43, reaching $500 would require the token to increase approximately 350-fold.

That represents a gain of roughly 34,900%.

At approximately 62.9 billion XRP in circulation, a $500 price would yield a market capitalization of around $31.45 trillion.

That is more than 11 times the current value of the entire crypto market, which stands near $2.8 trillion.

While Batch V1.1 may give XRP supporters something more substantial than another speculative partnership, it also provides financial infrastructure that asset managers could soon use.

Many major steps still separate a useful ledger upgrade from a $500 token.

Batch must activate, unnamed projects must reach production, institutional activity must generate significant XRP demand, and that demand must grow for years.

Sept. 29 could help begin that test, but it will be a long way off.
