Bombie Team Confirms ‘Plan’ for May 20 Airdrop, But No Promises

Key Takeaways
  • Bombie’s team says the BOMB token generation event (TGE) is planned for May 20, 2025.
  • The token will have a supply of 10 billion, with 70% of community tokens unlocked at launch.
  • Bombie’s new game, CapyBomb, will launch around the TGE and feature BOMB staking.

In a recent AMA with TON Society, Bombie Foundation COO Barry Lau confirmed that the team has “plans” to launch the BOMB token generation event (TGE) on May 20, though he stopped short of giving a hard confirmation.

That’s the Plan

The long-anticipated TGE comes after the Telegram-based game racked up over 10 million users and $20 million in revenue on TON.

Now, as Lau puts it, the team is in full marketing mode to ramp up player engagement ahead of the airdrop.

When asked directly if May 20 was officially locked in, Lau replied: “This is a very difficult question to answer at this moment. Because for every TGE, there may be some different factors affecting the exact time or exact date of the TGE.”

He adds loosely that because they’re still working “very closely” with the major exchanges, they have advised different times and dates “to go through the whole process.” If there are any changes, he advises players to keep an eye on the Bombie X channel.

Bombie Airdrop

As for the airdrop, Lau revealed that Bombie is taking a “fairdrop” approach—meaning token allocations will be based on contributions and commitment to the game. But that fairness may still lean in favor of those who paid.

Lau noted that just 2% of Bombie players are paying users, but they spend over $100 on average. He confirmed that paying players will be prioritized in the final airdrop calculations.

That puts Bombie in similar territory to fellow Telegram-based game Catizen, though with one key difference: 70% of BOMB’s community tokens will be unlocked at TGE, while Catizen is distributing its tokens in four phases.

CapyBomb Expands the Ecosystem with On-Chain Staking

Regarding further uses for the BOMB token, Lau notes Bombie’s sequel, CapyBomb, which is “Bombie 2.0” but with some additional decentralized finance (DeFi) features.

The BOMB token can be staked directly inside the CapyBomb mini app, which can yield rare items and weapons, granting players a slightly better gaming experience.

“If you don’t stake—okay, you can still enjoy the game—but you cannot get some very cool features of special weapons,” Lau added.

Looking ahead, Bombie plans to expand its ecosystem with more IPs and titles that support staking and crossover features, making BOMB a utility token across multiple in-game environments.
