Key Takeaways
  • Tesla CEO Elon Musk has claimed that every human will have one or more of Tesla’s Optimus robots in their home.
  • Musk said Optimus robots could be used for anything from a teacher for children to a bodyguard for the house.
  • Kim Kardashian has shared videos of her interacting with an Optimus robot.
  • Musk said artificial general intelligence could be here as early as next year.

Elon Musk has again made stark predictions about the near future of his Tesla’s Optimus robots, envisioning a future where the humanoid machines become an integral part of everyday life.

The predictions come as Kim Kardashian, one of the wealthiest celebrities in the world, shared footage of her playing with what appeared to be her own Optimus robot – providing a window into the future Musk has predicted.

Optimus Robots Are Coming

In a video posted on X, Musk said he believed that, eventually, everyone would have at least one of his company’s humanoid robots in their homes.

The Tesla CEO explained that they will be able to do everything: pick the kids up from school, become the school at home, and even be a personal bodyguard.

In the near future, Musk envisions the robots costing $20k but will initially be priced at around $30k.

Optimus, standing approximately 5 feet 8 inches and weighing 125 pounds, was created to assist with chores such as cooking and caregiving, effectively freeing humans from mundane tasks.

According to Musk, the robots can also support any language.

Musk believes the economic implications of widespread humanoid robot adoption are immense.

Optimus could revolutionize industries and provide affordable household solutions by significantly reducing labor costs and enhancing productivity.

“Humanoid robots will usher in a level of abundance that is hard to imagine. There will be no shortage of goods or services,” Musk said.

Kim Kardashian Socializes With Optimus

Kim Kardashian went viral on the internet after the reality TV star posted a video on Instagram about her socializing with a Tesla Optimus robot.

She says in the video: “Meet my new friend.”

The robot can be seen interacting with Kardashian, mimicking her actions, doing a hula dance, and losing in a game of rock paper scissors.

It is unclear whether Kardashian was loaned the robot for publicity purposes or if she is now the actual owner.

Unlike at the recent Tesla conference, which saw robots talking back to influencers, the robot remained completely silent in the recent Kardashian videos.

Elon Musk: AGI Is Coming

Along with his bold predictions about the future of humanoid robots, Musk claimed that AGI could be among us as early as next year and no later than 2026.

AGI refers to AI that can perform any intellectual task better than a human. The next-level form of AI can reason, problem-solve, and transfer knowledge like a human’s brain.

Achieving AGI has been a central goal in AI research, as it represents the creation of machines with human-like general intelligence.

“Yeah, please be nice to us, AGI,” Musk said in his live stream.
