Peter Brandt Takes Aim at XRP ‘Cult’ as Viral $100 Call Dwarfs His $5.40 Target

Key Takeaways
  • Peter Brandt says XRP’s charts give him reason to consider a bet, even as he takes aim at the community’s unquestioning loyalty to the token.
  • Software engineer and XRP community member Vincent Van Code sees XRP reaching $100 or more over three years.
  • This scenario would imply a circulating market value of roughly $6.3 trillion at today’s supply.

Peter Brandt is willing to consider a bet on XRP but is much less interested in joining its fan club.

The veteran trader’s latest comments have put his own chart toward $5.40 and a far more ambitious $100 prediction from software engineer and XRP community member Vincent Van Code.

For a token trading near $1.50, the two price predictions are extreme and rest on different arguments.

Brandt is reading XRP’s historical price patterns, while Van Code is betting that confidence in the asset could change dramatically over the next three years.

Brandt Sees an XRP Bet Without Joining the ‘Cult’

In a Sept. 26 post, Brandt said an investor does not need to be a “certified cult member” to take an interest in XRP.

He added that the charts alone had long given him reason to consider a bet.

The post paired that view with a weekly chart stretching across more than a decade of XRP trading.

It highlighted earlier periods when the price traded within narrow ranges before breaking higher, as well as a more recent pattern following XRP’s decline.

Those historical breakouts help explain Brandt’s interest, but a similar-looking formation would not guarantee the same result now.

Brandt’s $5.40 Target

Brandt put a number on his longer-term view in a separate Sept. 21 post where he pointed to an eventual advance to $5.40.

That would put XRP approximately 260% above $1.50.

It would also take the token roughly 48% beyond its $3.65 record high, according to CoinGecko’s historical price data.

“Eventually” is doing a lot of heavy work in the forecast.

Brandt gave no deadline, and his Sept. 26 comments did not issue a fresh $5.40 call.

In the earlier post, he also cautioned against treating someone’s published chart as proof that they had made a trade.

Brandt Has Also Warned About XRP Crashes

Brandt’s history with the token has been mixed as he has regularly shared chart readings pointing in both directions.

In November 2024, he identified a bullish narrowing pattern, yet said at the time that he held no XRP and had no plans to buy it.

Then, in March 2025, he warned that a bearish head-and-shoulders pattern could send XRP toward $1.07 if key support failed.

His willingness to publish both bullish and bearish XRP charts is consistent with the point he is making now — a trader can change their assessment as the price structure changes.

Viral Analyst Sees $100 XRP Within Three Years

Vincent Van Code’s Sept. 27 prediction takes the prediction much further.

The engineer argued that, once confidence takes hold, the token could climb through successive rallies and pullbacks to $100 or more over the next three years.

He pointed to the histories of Bitcoin and Ethereum to challenge the idea that a token’s distant potential must already be reflected in its current price.

“Once full confidence kicks in, XRP will rise in a saw tooth manner for the next 3 years, up to $100 or more,” he wrote.

The $100 Valuation Test

At roughly $1.50, a move to Brandt’s $5.40 level would multiply XRP’s price by 3.6 times.

Reaching Van Code’s $100 level would require it to climb about 66.7 times.

The supply figures make the difference even clearer, with CoinGecko counting approximately 62.9 billion XRP in circulation.

At that supply, $5.40 would imply a market capitalization of about $340 billion, and a $100 price would imply roughly $6.3 trillion.

The XRPL says no more than the original 100 billion XRP can be created.

Valuing that full amount at $100 would yield a fully diluted figure of $10 trillion.

That is nearly twice the market value of Nvidia, currently the world’s most valuable listed company at roughly $5.5 trillion, and more than three times the approximately $3 trillion value of the entire crypto market today.

Even counting only the roughly 62.9 billion currently in circulation, $100 per token would imply a market capitalization of about $6.3 trillion — larger than Nvidia’s current valuation.
