Its public pages build an entire casino identity around the retailer, referencing shopping in Tesco stores and supposed payment options linked to familiar British financial services.
The site remained accessible from Britain when checked by CCN on Sept. 15.
Tesco Casino Ads Disappeared — But the Campaign Predates This Weekend
Meta removed the advertisements highlighted in The Guardian’s investigation, but Tesco-themed gambling advertising emerged long before this week.
Netcraft documented fake Tesco gambling advertisements across social platforms in July, including AI-generated videos showing a Tesco cashier recommending Tesco Slots.
The researchers also found advertisers operating under names such as “Tesco Gaming,” as well as generic casino identities including “Lucky Realm.”
Meta’s own rules require online gambling advertisers to obtain prior written permission and comply with applicable laws in the markets they target.
No Bitcoin or USDT in Tesco Casino’s Public Payment Pitch
Despite the prevalence of crypto at offshore casinos, TescoSlots.com does not appear to be selling itself as a crypto gambling site.
Its publicly advertised payment list includes Mastercard debit, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Open Banking, Trustly and Paysafecard.
It also claims gamblers can deposit using a “Tesco debit card” and even charge deposits to a Tesco Mobile account.
Bitcoin, USDT, and other cryptocurrencies are not listed among the payment methods reviewed by CCN.

The appearance of well-known payment names raises another issue.
TescoSlots.com presents PayPal withdrawals, Apple Pay, and other available options.
The supposed “Tesco debit card” is particularly unusual.
Tesco Bank closed all of its personal current accounts in 2021 and stopped accepting new current-account customers in 2019.
The supermarket’s banking business was transferred to Barclays in November 2024, with Barclays managing products such as credit cards and savings.
Tesco also shut down its prepaid debit card, Clubcard Pay+, on April 26, 2026.

The most striking feature of TescoSlots.com is how aggressively it converts unrelated parts of Tesco’s reputation into gambling.

Its cashback program is comparable to collecting Clubcard points.
Its payment system invokes Tesco banking and mobile products.
And its license section explicitly links the casino’s credibility to more than a century of Tesco trading history.
The casino illustrates how established retail brands can be valuable to unlicensed gambling operators targeting British consumers, looking to entice customers with a trusted reputation.
This problem, unfortunately, extends far beyond Tesco.
The Guardian also previously identified casino campaigns appropriating Barclays and Monzo, as well as the names of sporting stars such as Bruno Fernandes, Lewis Hamilton, and Tyson Fury.
Tesco Casino Claims Curaçao License — But Who Operates It?
TescoSlots.com repeatedly claims it operates under an “international Curaçao license.”
However, CCN found no named operating company or Curaçao license number in the indexed material.
Instead, the footer simply states that an unnamed “operating company” holds legal responsibility for the website.
That is notable because Curaçao’s current licensing system offers a relatively straightforward way for players to verify the legitimacy of operators.
The Curaçao Gaming Authority (CGA) requires licensed business-to-consumer gambling websites to display a Certificate of Operation seal linked to the exact approved domain.
Following that, the seal should display the domain and current license status on the regulator’s own certificate platform.
CCN could not identify that information in TescoSlots.com’s publicly indexed material.
Even a genuine Curaçao license would not authorize the casino to target British gamblers.
The UK Gambling Commission states that any company providing remote gambling to consumers in England, Scotland, or Wales requires a British operating license, regardless of where the company itself is based.
The Guardian reported that the Tesco-branded operation does not hold one.
