Gate AI and XYO Launch Onchain Crypto Prediction Game Pitting Traders Against AI

Gate is extending its push into prediction products through a partnership between Gate AI and blockchain data network XYO, this time adding artificial intelligence to the mix.

The companies announced on Sept. 1 that they are developing XYO Crypto Cards, a daily crypto prediction game in which users compete against Gate AI and other participants.

Unlike a conventional prediction market, where traders buy and sell contracts based on a market-implied probability, Crypto Cards uses a head-to-head format.

Each day, XYO will randomly select three crypto assets from a pool of tokens listed on Gate. Gate AI will make its predictions first, while players will have 24 hours to predict whether the same assets move higher or lower and assign them to different multiplier slots.

Gate market data will determine the result, while players’ selections will be recorded on XYO Layer One before the prediction window closes.

“At Gate US, we believe AI will play an increasingly important role in shaping the future of digital assets—not simply through individual features, but by enabling more intelligent connections between users, information, and digital asset ecosystems,” Laura Liu, COO of Gate US, told CCN.

Gate Adds AI After Polymarket and Event Contracts

The partnership adds another format to Gate’s rapidly expanding prediction business.

In March, Gate became the first centralized crypto exchange to integrate Polymarket directly into its app, initially launching the service in public beta.

It followed that in July with its own Event Contracts, which let users predict short-term movements in crypto prices over periods ranging from five minutes to four hours. Unlike leveraged futures, those contracts use fixed-outcome pricing without margin calls or liquidation.

Crypto Cards differ again. There is no consensus market price for users to trade against. Instead, the AI model becomes one of the competitors whose forecasting record can be compared with that of human players.

Gate AI will supply the AI predictions, while its Model Context Protocol provides the market data used to settle outcomes.

Prediction Markets Are Getting Much Bigger

The timing comes as event-based trading moves well beyond its 2024 election-driven boom.

Kalshi, Polymarket and Polymarket US generated a combined $50.59 billion in trading volume in July 2026, a record and up about 7.8% from June.

Bernstein expects prediction-market volume to reach around $240 billion in 2026 and potentially $1 trillion annually by 2030.

Growth has also brought more scrutiny. US regulators are examining market integrity and insider-trading risks, while disputes continue over whether certain sports-event contracts fall under federal commodities law or state gambling rules.

Why XYO Is Recording the Predictions

XYO launched its data-focused Layer One blockchain in September 2025, targeting applications that need verifiable records for AI, logistics and other data-heavy systems. The company says its wider DePIN network has more than 10 million nodes.

For Crypto Cards, the blockchain’s role is narrower: to record what each participant predicted before the result is known, creating a timestamped history that can be checked later.

The companies said they are also exploring further combinations of AI, market data and blockchain infrastructure. For now, Crypto Cards offers a more immediate test: whether crypto users want to compete with AI on market calls rather than simply trade against other people.
