Key Takeaways
Evernorth is moving beyond simply holding XRP, announcing four major cryptocurrency companies as partners to support institutional strategies involving its 473 million XRP treasury.
On Oct. 14, the company named Ripple, Coinbase, Kraken, and BitGo as its inaugural institutional execution partners, establishing the infrastructure needed to put its digital asset holdings to work.
The announcement signals a broader ambition to turn XRP from a passive treasury asset into capital deployed through institutional trading and financial strategies.
Ripple subsequently congratulated Evernorth on its Nasdaq debut, describing the development as a milestone for the XRP ecosystem.
The partnership brings together companies specializing in liquidity, cryptocurrency trading, custody, and institutional infrastructure. However, Evernorth has not established that all 473 million XRP have already been deployed.

Evernorth completed its business combination with Armada Acquisition Corp. II on Oct. 9 and began trading on Nasdaq under the ticker XRPN on Oct. 12.
The company entered public markets holding approximately 473 million XRP alongside $300 million in gross cash proceeds.
Its investors include Ripple, Kraken, SBI Group, Pantera Capital, Arrington Capital, and GSR. The structure gives public-market investors exposure to a company whose financial performance is closely tied to XRP, rather than requiring them to purchase the cryptocurrency directly.
Ripple welcomed the development in an Oct. 14 X post.
“Evernorth represents a new milestone for the XRP ecosystem, putting XRP to work via institutional strategies and expanding the network as new capabilities are introduced.”
The announcement also coincided with Evernorth ringing Nasdaq’s closing bell to celebrate its public listing.
Congratulations to our friends at @evernorthxrp on their Nasdaq debut!

Unlike a conventional corporate cryptocurrency treasury that primarily accumulates and holds tokens, Evernorth intends to generate additional returns from its XRP reserves.
Its initial institutional strategies are expected to begin during the fourth quarter of 2026, using established counterparties before expanding into decentralized finance.
CEO Asheesh Birla said the company intends to increase XRP holdings per share over time, rather than relying exclusively on appreciation in the cryptocurrency’s market price.
Day 7 as a public company, and we’re putting 473M XRP to work starting with @Ripple, @krakenfx, @coinbase and @BitGo. In my view, just holding was first generation. Say hello, to gen 2!

A company holding 473 million XRP benefits when the token’s price rises, but generating additional XRP through lending, liquidity provision, or other strategies could potentially increase its holdings independently of price movements.
However, those activities introduce risks absent from simple custody, including counterparty defaults, liquidity constraints and potential losses on deployed capital.
Evernorth has not disclosed how much XRP will be allocated to each partner, the precise initial strategies, or the returns it expects to generate.
The company said the arrangements remain subject to customary closing conditions and applicable approvals.
Evernorth’s treasury deployment will be overseen by Hugo Jeandesboz, who was appointed chief investment officer in October.
Jeandesboz previously served as co-chief investment officer at Coinbase Asset Management and held positions at HSBC and Société Générale.
His responsibilities include capital allocation, liquidity management, and oversight of institutional counterparties.
The company intends to begin with established financial infrastructure before eventually deploying XRP into lending and credit markets built directly on the XRP Ledger.
That second phase depends on native lending functionality becoming operational and demonstrating sufficient reliability.
The approach reflects an important distinction between XRP’s existing role as a transferable digital asset and its potential use as capital supporting financial activity on its underlying blockchain.
Rather than immediately committing treasury assets to emerging onchain protocols, Evernorth plans to wait for those markets to mature.
Evernorth’s strategy raises a question for investors: can actively managing XRP generate enough additional value to justify the risks and operating costs?
The company’s preferred metric is growth in XRP per share, which measures how much cryptocurrency effectively backs each outstanding share.
That figure can increase through successful treasury strategies or additional XRP purchases, but it can also be diluted if the company issues more shares without a proportionate increase in holdings.
Furthermore, even successful XRP-denominated returns may not protect shareholders from a significant decline in XRP’s dollar price.
In its SEC disclosures, Evernorth acknowledges that its financial performance will remain heavily dependent on cryptocurrency market conditions.
The partnerships with Ripple, Coinbase, Kraken, and BitGo therefore represent an operational starting point rather than proof that the strategy will succeed.
For now, the central development is that one of the largest publicly traded XRP treasury companies is preparing to move from accumulation toward active capital deployment.
Whether that approach delivers sustainable returns will depend on execution, transparency, and the development of financial markets on the XRP Ledger.
