Bitcoin Will Hit $43M, Famed Influencer Says, as JPMorgan Issues Post-CLARITY Act Warning

Key Takeaways
  • Mark Moss’s model outlines a $43 million Bitcoin scenario for 2050, assuming substantial growth in global wealth and Bitcoin adoption.
  • JPMorgan separately warns that regulatory measures supporting institutional crypto access remain vulnerable in the absence of legislation.
  • Moss explicitly cautions that his model’s dates are not firm deadlines.

Bitcoin could eventually reach $43 million if it captures a much larger share of the world’s wealth, according to investor and financial commentator Mark Moss.

His model places that outcome in 2050, alongside scenarios approaching $1 million in 2030 and $11 million in 2040.

It comes as JPMorgan analysts warned that the regulatory measures helping crypto recover from the CLARITY Act setback could prove less durable than investors expect — adding a significant challenge to extreme price scenarios.

How Moss Builds His $43 Million Bitcoin Scenario

In a YouTube presentation, Moss explains that his framework starts with the markets Bitcoin could compete against, rather than extending its historical price chart.

He includes real estate, equities, bonds, gold, and collectibles.

“Bitcoin competes for capital that people are trying to preserve across time.”

Moss compares the approach with venture capital investing, where you estimate the size of a potential market, how quickly it might expand, and what percentage a new entrant could capture.

His model estimates that the combined store-of-value basket could grow from approximately $994 trillion in 2025 to around $6 quadrillion by 2050.

Bitcoin capturing just 15% of that projected market produces his roughly $43 million price scenario.

Despite his conviction, he acknowledges the uncertainty of his call:

“All models are guesses. Nobody has a crystal ball.”

Bitcoin Would Not Need to Replace Every Other Asset

Moss argues that Bitcoin can attract wealth from traditional investments without making those markets disappear.

“We still need homes. I’m not saying people aren’t going to buy houses. We still need houses to live in.”

His argument concerns where investors put their savings, rather than whether they stop buying property or funding businesses.

“What if 2% or 4% or 5% of the wealth that would have gone to real estate now went into Bitcoin?”

He applies the same reasoning to stocks, suggesting that Bitcoin already competes for money investors could allocate elsewhere.

Moss identifies distribution through banks, financial advisers and brokerage accounts as a mechanism that could accelerate that shift.

In his view, financial firms have a stronger incentive to promote Bitcoin once they can offer it to customers.

“Now they want you to buy it. So now they’re recommending it.”

JPMorgan Warns the Post-CLARITY Framework Remains Fragile

The institutional expansion that forms Moss’s Bitcoin thesis is facing challenges over the push for clearer US crypto rules.

After the Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act, regulators began pursuing a “Plan B” through their existing powers.

While this promised the industry a route forward as Congress remains divided, it has raised concerns about how firmly those changes can be established.

JPMorgan addressed that uncertainty in an Oct. 21 research note.

Analysts led by Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou said regulatory initiatives could encourage institutional participation, while warning that:

“Only legislation would make the framework more durable over the longer term.”

What Would $43 Million Bitcoin Mean?

At $43 million per coin, Bitcoin’s maximum supply of 21 million would imply a fully diluted valuation of approximately $903 trillion.

Even allowing for decades of inflation and asset-price growth, that would represent an extraordinary valuation.

To put it into perspective, global stock markets were worth $157.8 trillion in 2025, while outstanding fixed-income securities totaled $160.7 trillion, according to SIFMA.

Bitcoin’s hypothetical valuation would be approximately 2.8 times the combined valuation of those two markets.

It would also be around 2.3 times the estimated value of all residential property, commercial real estate and agricultural land worldwide, which Savills valued at $393.3 trillion at the end of 2024.

These comparisons put into perspective just how massive the prediction is.

Moss Says the Dates Are Not Deadlines

Despite presenting figures for particular years, Moss explicitly rejects treating them as precise promises.

“I’m not saying it’s going to hit a million in 2030. It could be 2032, could be 2033.”

He describes the model as a way to identify the mechanisms that would support higher valuations and assess whether they are developing.

“We want to identify what has to become true and then we want to watch the evidence.”

For that thesis to hold, Bitcoin would need major adoption, larger allocations, and continued confidence in its role as a store of wealth.

Any slowing in uptake from businesses, restrictive rules, competition, or prolonged losses could quickly put the call into disarray.
