Bitcoin reaching $1 million. Rihanna releasing another album. Jesus Christ returning.
Traders bought and sold millions of dollars in wild contracts on those possibilities through a collection of prediction markets asking what would happen before Grand Theft Auto VI.
Now, with Rockstar’s scheduled Nov. 19 release just 13 days away, the distance between Bitcoin’s price and the seven-figure milestone remains enormous.

With GTA 6’s scheduled release now just 13 days away, one of the wildest wagers surrounding the game focused on Bitcoin’s price.
Traders generated around $4.78 million in cumulative trading volume on a Polymarket contract asking whether Bitcoin would reach $1 million before Rockstar’s blockbuster launched.
CCN first examined the wager in June, when Rockstar’s pre-order announcement brought fresh attention to the unlikely race.
Now, as players prepare to download the game, Bitcoin remains far below the milestone.
Although the wager closed in July, with its published rules including a July 31, 2026 cutoff, the idea of $1 million Bitcoin continues to be bet on.
JAN3 CEO Samson Mow has been among its most outspoken advocates.
In a podcast appearance examined in May, he described the milestone as “just around the corner.
Meanwhile, Jack Dorsey and Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong have both publicly backed Bitcoin reaching $1 million by 2030.
Nevertheless, as Rockstar’s long-awaited release approaches, Bitcoin remains far away from that milestone.
At the time of reporting, Bitcoin traded at $75,948 on Nov. 6, around 40% below its October 2025 record near $126,198.
From that starting point, reaching $1 million would require a gain of roughly 1,217%.
Even recovering its previous record would leave Bitcoin needing another roughly 692% increase to reach seven figures.
With around 20.1 million BTC circulating, a $1 million price would imply a market capitalization of about $20.1 trillion.
The scale of that repricing would be extraordinary.
Reaching $1 million within the remaining 13 days before GTA 6’s scheduled launch would require Bitcoin to compound at roughly 22% every day.
Bitcoin was only one part of the broader “What will happen before GTA VI?” event.
The collection accumulated $23.6 million in trading volume across 10 outcomes.
The largest was the contract asking whether Jesus Christ would return, which somehow generated more than twice the Bitcoin market’s turnover.
| Outcome traders could trade | Reported cumulative volume |
|---|---|
| Jesus Christ returns | $11.92 million |
| Bitcoin reaches $1 million | $4.78 million |
| China invades Taiwan | $1.94 million |
| Russia–Ukraine ceasefire | $1.68 million |
| New Rihanna album | $888,130 |
| New Playboi Carti album | $757,130 |
| Trump leaves the presidency | $718,420 |
| GPT-6 is released | $696,240 |
| Drake releases Iceman | $184,870 |
| Another pandemic | $38,730 |
Some of the events happened well before Rockstar’s scheduled launch.
Drake released his album Iceman on May 15, 2026, beating both the July betting cutoff and GTA 6’s November release date.
The corresponding contract generated $184,870 in trading volume.

Russia and Ukraine also agreed to a three-day ceasefire in May.
Together, those two contracts attracted over $1.85 million in turnover.
With 13 days until GTA 6’s scheduled release, Rockstar has now provided players with details on when they can download the game, along with a bunch of new insights.
On Thursday, the developer published its GTA VI Launch Gallery, offering new screenshots of Vice City and the surrounding setting.
“Grand Theft Auto VI is now officially only two weeks away,” Rockstar wrote.
Meanwhile, Rockstar’s updated pre-load FAQ says digital downloads will begin on Nov. 10.
PlayStation 5 users can start at midnight in their local time zone, while Xbox Series X|S pre-loading begins globally at midnight GMT.
Rockstar also confirmed that players will need up to 212GB of available storage, depending on their device.
For perspective, that is roughly three times the 70GB PC storage requirement listed for Cyberpunk 2077.
