Key Takeaways
  • U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs command $119.66 billion in BTC or 5.94% of its market cap.
  • Bitcoin is down 4.21% in the past 24 hours and is trading at $95,361; Ethereum is trading down 16.4% at $2,595
  • U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs hold $12.08 billion in net assets or 3.02% of ETH’s market cap.

Crypto markets are experiencing a major correction, though this hasn’t deterred U.S. spot Bitcoin (BTC) exchange-traded funds (ETFs) from scoring solid inflows. Meanwhile, Ethereum (ETH) funds struggle to keep up.

Bitcoin ETFs

According to data from SoSoValue, Bitcoin ETFs marked day four of a renewed winning streak on Jan. 31, 2025, with $318.56 million in total net inflows.

Bitcoin funds pulled a modest $559.84 million in net inflows last week. Though it pales compared to the previous two weeks, which pulled $3.62 billion, and sentiment has shifted into bearish territory now that BTC is running at $95,000, institutional investors remain bullish.

Retaining its ever-dominant top-spot position, BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) scooped $363.83 million in net inflows. The behemoth BTC fund has now recorded $40.48 billion in cumulative net inflows, commanding $59.39 billion in net assets, or 2.95% of BTC’s market cap.

The ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB) netted a cool $35.59 million in net inflows, bringing its cumulative net inflows to $2.95 billion, ranking it third for flows. It ranks fourth for net assets with $5.22 billion.

Lastly, VanEck’s Bitcoin ETF (HODL) pulled a modest $5.76 million in net inflows, raising its cumulative total to $865.14 million and net assets to $1.47 billion.

Leading today’s outflows, Bitwise’s Bitcoin ETF (BITB) posted a loss of $56.03 million, bringing its cumulative net inflows down to $2.3 billion. Having experienced some significant outflows and volatility in November 2024, BITB’s cumulative net inflows have somewhat stagnated since.

Finally, the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) posted $30.59 million in net outflows after a record-setting 3-day zero flow streak for the fund. To date, GBTC has bled $21.89 billion in cumulative net outflows and now commands an ever-dwindling $20.43 billion in net assets.

Ethereum ETFs

As per data from SoSoValue, Ethereum ETFs wrapped the week with $27.78 million in total net inflows on Jan. 31, 2025. Despite seeing higher-than-average weekly trading volumes of $1.95 billion, funds have struggled to maintain sturdy inflows, resulting in a weekly net outflow of $45.51 million.

Unphased, BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) continued to draw investor attention with $57.27 million in net inflows. The dominant ETH fund has recorded $4.14 billion in cumulative net inflows and commands a solid $4.15 billion in net assets.

In a very rare showing, the VanEck Ethereum Trust (ETHV) pulled a humble $2.43 million in net inflows.

Finally, the Grayscale Ethereum Trust (ETHE) maintained its downward trajectory, posting $31.92 million in exits. Having seen just two days of net inflows, ETHE’s cumulative net outflows now total $3.93 billion, with $4.39 billion in net assets.
