Biomutant may finally have a release date if a leak at two online stores can be believed, but gamers shouldn't get their hopes too high yet.
Biomutant may finally have a release date, albeit an unofficial one. A leak on Instant Gaming suggests the game will finally launch on March 17, 2020.
That’s news to anyone that has been following Biomutant. The THQ Nordic game was originally going to release back in 2018 before suffering a delay.
While this new leak is exciting, it’s important to temper expectations. Instant Gaming may have it wrong, and Biomutant won’t be coming out on March 17.
It’s also worth mentioning that Instant Gaming isn’t the most trustworthy of online game marketplaces. Users have had issues before with buying games that come with codes that don’t work.
Then again, Instant Gaming isn’t the only website that has been advertising the March 17 release date. In late January, we also saw ShopTo list the game as coming out on that date.
With two online shops listing Biomutant as having a March 17 release, the credibility is starting to increase. These don’t appear to be placeholder dates.
It would be great if a larger game retailer, such as GameStop, offered additional hints. Unfortunately, it still has the generic date of Dec. 31, 2020, on its website. Steam also still lists a vague 2020 release.
Biomutant has been taking its sweet time coming out. The game was originally announced all the way back in 2017.
It’s unknown why the game has been delayed so many times. If it does manage to hit this leaked release date, it will actually be coming out earlier than expected.
The 2020 delay was announced during Embracer Group’s earnings report for the second quarter of fiscal 2019. It indicated that the game wouldn’t come out until fiscal 2020, which doesn’t start until July of this year.
No matter what happens, this is another classic case of game developers announcing games too early. Hopefully, gamers won’t have to wait much longer for Biomutant to release.
