Shiba Inu’s main developer Shytoshi Kusama made a 5-minute address on day 1 of the Blockchain Futurist Conference and hinted at a possible Shibarium launch. He added some additional aspects about the launch, even though the layer 2 scaling solution Shibarium’s anticipated kick-off has not yet been revealed.

Kusama began his speech by praising the Shiba Inu community’s fortitude and tenacity.
He said, “What makes Shiba Inu unique is our community, the SHIB Army.” He also acknowledged and underlined the community’s significance in moving the initiative forward. This philosophy is firmly held throughout the SHIB army, where decentralized structures greatly rely on the group efforts of their members.
However, Kusama didn’t only emphasize a community-first strategy. He explored a wider area, showing the revolutionary possibilities of blockchain technology. He claimed that the blockchain is more than just a technical marvel; it has the power and potential to transform several sectors completely.

With a cryptic yet promising tone, Kusama’s Tweet hinted at an exciting development on the horizon: “Surprise for you tomorrow,” he wrote, leaving the Shiba Inu community and enthusiasts in suspense as they await potential news regarding the long-awaited Shibarium launch.
While the discussions throughout the day were insightful, there was a lingering disappointment that Shibarium’s launch was not announced. However, Kusama’s cryptic comments on Telegram quickly dispelled this attitude: “Why would I release [Shibarium] on a 5 min talk when we have a 16 keynote tomorrow.”
These comments, however, veiled in secrecy, seem to strongly suggest that there will be an announcement on day 2. The subsequent interaction with Kusama increased the suspense. He jokingly remarked, “You got a date today,” in response to the direct query of whether Shibarum will be published or there will only be a date. Tomorrow.”
Launch of Shibarium Today?
A prominent member of the Shiba Inu community posted a screenshot of Kusama’s messages to the group’s Discord server in the meanwhile. Kusama said, “Soon is tomorrow; see you at the keynote.”
It’s important to note that the word “tomorrow” in this context refers to August 16. The developer also stressed that the wait was ended. He said the neighborhood now has a concrete date to watch out for the anticipated Shibarium.
Notably, the official Shiba Inu X account posted a sneak look video of Kusama welcoming Shiba armies to his keynote address at the Blockchain Futurist Conference. According to the video, the talk will start at 5:35 Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).
While the Shiba Inu community mulls over these clues, there is growing agreement that the introduction of the Shibarium is imminent. Shiba Inu has once again assumed the spotlight as day 2 of the conference approaches.
