JUNE 5, 2019 (DEBERT, NOVA SCOTIA, CANADA) — The Peerplays Blockchain Standards Association (PBSA), a non-profit organization that supports the development of the Peerplays blockchain, announced it is joining the EOS Blockchain community with the development of the revolutionary SONs – Sidechain Operating Nodes to accomplish Inter-Blockchain Operability (IBO).
SONs is a Peerplays protocol plugin that facilitates the transfer of token operations from the Peerplays blockchain to and from EOS and EOSIO blockchains. This is an evolution to IBC. SONs operate at the consensus level, providing decentralized two-way communications enabling seamless interaction between the fast-growing Peerplays environment and the thriving EOS landscape.
“The PIP for SONs has already been published in Peerplays community Github,” says PBSA President and Peerplays co-founder Jonathan Baha’i. “SONs creates many innovative opportunities to expand EOS gaming and token transfer capabilities. It is a huge milestone for both blockchains, and we look forward to melding the two ecosystems”
The announcement comes just days after Block.One unveiled both VOICE – a EOS blockchain based social media platform, and EOSVM, which will enhance the EOS performance by 12x. Thanks to Peerplays SONs, the interoperability of both these amazing new features will be available to Peerplays blockchain users also.
This month, the long-anticipated BookiePro sports betting exchange is expected to be ready for release on the Peerplays mainnet, showcasing provably fair sports betting on a blockchain capable of handling transactions on a global scale. Once SONs is enabled, it will make BookiePro capable of being utilized by EOS blockchain users as well.
Peerplays, for which PPY is the core token, is a decentralized global gaming platform built to bring a new paradigm of fairness, speed, transparency, and security to the global gaming industry at significantly reduced costs. Additional DApps and features are being developed by the Peerplays community members around the world, ongoing, in areas of interest including lottery, sweepstakes, esports tournaments, and challenger games.
