Hayden Adams
Hayden Adams is the founder of Uniswap, one of the best-known decentralized exchanges (DEXs) on the Ethereum network. He became influential by helping popularize automated market makers (AMMs), a way to trade using liquidity pools instead of a normal order book.
Uniswap went live on Ethereum in November 2018, after Adams spent time building and testing early versions of the idea. As decentralized finance (DeFi) grew, Uniswap became a “default” place to swap tokens straight from their crypto wallet, without creating an account on an exchange.
In 2025, Adams mattered because he helped move DEXs closer to the mainstream. As DEX volume jumped in 2025, Uniswap sat near the center of that movement.
In 2026, Adams’ influence will likely hinge on two things: a better user experience to make DEXs easier to use, and clearer rules so developers can build without worrying about how regulations will change.
If Uniswap keeps adjusting how AMMs work while publicly defending AMMs, its model will likely continue to spread.
