Inveniam is a data infrastructure company that has been structuring and credentialing institutional data for over a decade. It has credentialed over $200 billion in private-market assets and is backed by 90 US patents, which titans like Microsoft have cited, covering blockchain-attested real-world asset data.

The company is launching NVNM Chain, an accountability infrastructure layer for agentic AI. The blockchain is purpose-built for the unique challenges of operating AI agents within regulated firms. It lets agents record decision-making data, enhancing accountability and transparency, which are crucial amid increasing regulatory scrutiny in the AI landscape.

Changing the AI Agent Landscape

AI agents are revolutionizing how institutions operate, enhancing capital allocation, compliance reviews, and treasury operations. However, accountability is limited. There’s no simple way to determine why an AI agent acted in a certain way, and it’s difficult to track issuers.

The current ecosystem is murky, and with Garner forecasting that 40% of enterprise applications could embed AI agents by the end of 2026, the need for a transparent, verifiable layer that records AI agent activity is clearer than ever. Without a solution, the reasoning behind decision-making becomes difficult to follow.

The launch of NVNM Chain provides a fix. The purpose-built Layer-2 network is effectively a verifiable record of activity. AI agents can record the source of their data, their reasoning, and the human responsible for operating them. NVNM Chain serves as an AI agent proof layer, something that’s quickly becoming essential as regulators focus on accountability.

AI Agent Regulatory Landscape

Being an emerging technology, there are minimal guidelines or restrictions on AI agent operations. Although they are being deployed into many enterprise apps, the accountability infrastructure is underdeveloped.

However, regulators are catching up. The EU AI Act comes into enforcement in August 2026. Companies that cannot provide the data behind high-risk AI decisions could face fines of up to €35 million or 7% of their global annual turnover. As such, accountability tools like NVNM Chain are becoming crucial for enterprises implementing AI.

Speaking on AI agent accountability, Patrick O’Meara, Founder and CEO of Inveniam, said:

“The conversation around AI in financial services has shifted from capability to accountability. Regulators are no longer asking whether an AI agent can act. They are asking how you prove what it acted on. NVNM Chain is the receipts layer for that question, built on infrastructure we have been credentialing institutional data against for more than a decade.”

NVNM Chain Launch

While many networks launch in a semi-operational state, NVNM Chain will be ready for use from day 1. TraceChain has validated the network under the G42 and Bank of International Settlement (BIS) Regulated Technology Environment framework, ensuring it is secure and operates smoothly.

At launch, institutions will be able to leverage the MCP Server component, a developer interface that enables AI agents to send their source data and reasoning to the NVNM Chain, and the Know Your Agent (KYA) Portal, which assigns credentials linked to a verified human operator to agents operating on the network.

From its May 13, 2026, release, companies using NVNM Chain will be able to keep records of AI agent activity, reasoning, and ownership, helping businesses prepare for AI legislation and ensure compliance, thereby preventing large fees and regulatory scrutiny.

Looking Forward

It’s no secret that AI is becoming a big part of our daily lives. From medical fields to data analysis and customer service, autonomous agents are altering our approach to work and decision-making.

As the AI industry develops, regulations will become clearer, paving the way for agents to be more broadly integrated into enterprise applications and placed in key decision-making roles. As this shift occurs, the need for accountability will grow exponentially.

NVNM Chain is immutable, intuitive, and versatile. Moreover, knowledge of development is not required to monitor agent activities and record the data underlying reasoning. By eliminating technical hurdles, NVNM Chain lets businesses focus on innovation while ensuring compliance. If your business leverages AI agents, NVNM Chain is worth watching.
