If you’re a Meghan Markle fan it must be terribly infuriating when you see Duchess Kate Middleton lauded as the most popular female royal outside of the Queen.
It’s probably not what most Meghan fans envisioned when their idol married Prince Harry. However, quite how many Sussex Squad zealots had actually heard of Meghan before she latched onto the younger Prince is debatable.
Still, Meghan Markle has not quite had the effect on the royal family that most had hoped. If recent reports are anything to go by, both her and Prince Harry’s popularity is taking a frightening nosedive.
So, what makes Duchess Kate Middleton so damn appealing? What does she have that Meghan Markle doesn’t?
Kate Middleton is a fan of recycling outfits
Duchess Kate Middleton is a trendsetter when it comes to the outfits she wears. Granted, she doesn’t spend ridiculous sums of money on the clothes she wears, but that’s because she doesn’t have to.
She’s the type of classy lady that looks fantastic no matter what she decides to wear.

She often decides to wear outfits more than once, even in high-profile public appearances, which is a bit of a no-no for many celebrities and figures who grace the front pages of the fashion and celeb magazines.
While this type of approach may raise the eyebrows of the rich and famous, it ensures that Kate is popular with her fans. Us mere mortals can rarely afford to purchase outfits that we wear once then discard. Recycling is a fact of life for most women, and when we see someone like Kate Middleton follow suit, it makes her more relatable.
Meghan Markle fans give Kate a bit of a hard time about that on occasion, but that’s to be expected. Both women have markedly different types of fanbases.

Meghan and Kate Middleton differ in their approach to high-profile events, especially where they aren’t the focus of attention.
We all know that it’s always got to be “all about Meghan” when it comes to Meghan Markle, and we continuously hear from Prince Harry that “what Meghan wants, Meghan gets.”
And what Meghan wants is to be the center of attention, something that the sister of Kate Middleton, Pippa, feared when she was getting married in 2017.
At the time Meghan Markle wasn’t the most welcome guest, and with good reason. The future Duchess of Sussex had a reputation for trying to upstage those who were the focal point of any event she attended.

So how does Kate do things differently?
Unlike her egomaniacal sister-in-law, Kate Middleton is secure enough within herself to realize that not everything has to be all about her.
When attending a wedding, it’s all about the bride, and Kate knows this, which is why she’s known for recycling previously worn outfits from past public appearances.
Why? Because it ensures that the attention is on the bride, and not on what new outfit Kate is wearing that day.
Marie Claire commented on this very subject, claiming:
She does this to make sure all the attention is on the bride, no doubt knowing that if she wears something flamboyant or new, the headlines will focus on her, which they inevitably do.
And this is an excellent example of exactly why Duchess Kate Middleton will always be more popular than Meghan Markle.
Class, consideration for others, and confidence in herself. All character traits that we love to see in people and Duchess Kate has them all.
