Kanye West declared Kim Kardashian a billionaire, but Forbes says she's not. Why's he desperate for her net worth to hit that tenth digit?
You can tell Kylie Jenner and Kanye West to move over because there’s a new billionaire in the family.
Or is there?
Kim Kardashian West has sold a minority stake in her beauty brand to Coty for over $200 million. Under this new partnership, Coty will own 20% of KKW Beauty.
“With Kim’s influence and our deep expertise in prestige beauty, we will build a beauty powerhouse and enter new beauty categories together.” the brand wrote on an Instagram post.
No one was prouder of Kim than her husband, Kanye West. West rushed to Twitter to congratulate her on “officially becoming a billionaire.”
“I am so proud of my beautiful wife Kim Kardashian West for officially becoming a billionaire,” West tweeted. “You’ve weathered the craziest storms, and now God is shining on you and our family. So blessed, this is still life. So I made you this still life. We love you so much.”
There’s just one problem. Forbes says Kim’s not actually a billionaire – yet. She’s close, with a new net worth of an estimated $900 million.
That places her neck-and-neck with her sister, Kylie Jenner.
Forbes named Kylie the “youngest self-made billionaire” in 2019, but they infamously revoked her title in May because they claimed she is worth “just under $900 million.” Forbes denounced her claim, accusing the 22-year-old of her boosting her wealth and doctoring her financial records.
All of this raises two interesting questions. Is this the start of a new intra-Kardashian rivalry? And where does Kanye fit in?
Let’s take a look.
There is one member of the Kardashian extended family with a confirmed billionaire status: Kanye West.
Kanye is “officially” worth $1.26 billion, according to documents he gave Forbes. Of course, he disputed the magazine’s findings, claiming he’s worth $3.33 billion.
And he’s probably furious that his sister-in-law Kylie Jenner was featured on the publication’s annual World’s Billionaires list – despite not actually being a billionaire – while he was excluded.
Was his tweet a premature jab at Kylie for losing a spot in the Kardashian net worth rankings? Is it proof he’s holding a grudge?
Kanye always bloats about his life. Yes, he is already a billionaire, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be a Gold Digger too.
He does seem pretty desperate to see Kim Kardashian’s net worth hit that tenth digit…
