  • PlayStation announces one final 2019 State of Play broadcast.
  • Twenty minutes of updates, announcements, reveals, and gameplay are on tap.
  • Resident Evil 3 Remake may feature prominently.

Somewhat unexpectedly, Sony announced today one final iteration of its all things PlayStation broadcast, State of Play, for 2019. Will we finally get confirmation of that Resident Evil 3 remake? What about The Last of Us Part II?

Here’s everything we can expect to learn:

How to Watch 2019’s Last State of Play

The stream is scheduled for next Tuesday, Dec. 10, 6 am PST/9 am ET/1 pm GMT. You can tune on all the usual PlayStation social media channels, notably YouTube , Twitch , and Twitter .

In a PlayStation blog post announcing the news, Sony Interactive Entertainment Content Communications senior director Sid Shuman had this to say :

We’ve got around 20 minutes of new game reveals, release date announcements, new game play footage, PlayStation Worldwide Studios updates, and more.

Will Sony PlayStation Confirm the Resident Evil 3 Remake?

As for what we can expect, Resident Evil 3 Remake stands as a likely candidate. Niko Partners senior analyst Daniel Ahmad hinted at a reveal when images of the remake surfaced on the PlayStation Network earlier this week.

Ahmad suggests the reveal will happen at an event before The Game Awards. With little on the calendar in terms of broadcasts before the TGA events on Dec. 12, it’s reasonable to assume State of Play is the event in question.

PlayStation Worldwide Studios Updates

It’s high time Sony provides an update on Ghost of Tsushima. The mention of “PlayStation Worldwide Studios updates” bodes well in that respect. An update on what Guerilla Games, Insomniac Games, and Santa Monica Studio are up to is due as well.

With The Game Awards two days later, it may be best to manage our expectations and get our hopes up, though.

We’d also put money on a fresh The Last of Us Part II trailer in anticipation of next spring’s release.

Much like the last State of Play in September, Sony explicitly notes there won’t be any PlayStation 5 news. This is presumably in anticipation of a dedicated reveal rumored for February next year.
