- PlayStation announces December’s PS Plus free games.
- Sony’s choices are Titanfall 2 and Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame.
- The games are available from Dec. 3 until Jan. 6.
Sony announced earlier today, via a post on its PlayStation.blog portal, the free games heading to PlayStation Plus next month.
Sticking to the rather excellent form carved out over the past year or so, Titanfall 2 and Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame are Sony’s choices for December. Not bad. Not bad at all.
Titanfall 2
The star of the show is unquestionably Titanfall 2. No offense to Monster Energy Supercross, but it just doesn’t quite have the same pedigree as a Titanfall game.
Respawn Entertainment, the studio responsible for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, is behind Titanfall 2. The game is even better than Fallen Order (by a considerable margin we’d wager) and possibly Respawn’s best effort to date, which says a lot.
The premise of throwing around the metallic weight of imposing mechs and blazing down goons is alluring enough to pique our interest. But, Titanfall 2 shines brightest when it comes to its accolade-laden single-player campaign. We’re talking a narrative depth that puts other first-person shooters to shame.
Sony describes it as follows;
Players will take on the mantle of rifleman-turned-Pilot Jack Cooper, who finds themselves trapped behind enemy lines with BT-7274, his new Titan partner. To escape the IMC and save the day, they’ll have to learn to work together and become an effective fighting unit.
Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame
Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame (that’s a mouthful, isn’t it?) is your pretty standard, run of the mill racer. Except you get dirt bikes stamped with Monster branding. Serviceable and enjoyable but nothing to write home about.
Titanfall 2 and Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame will be available on PlayStation Plus from Dec. 3 until Jan. 6. As usual, subscribers have until the 3rd to pick up this month’s stellar duo of Nioh and Outlast 2. Make sure you pick up Nioh; it’s a doozy.
