  • The countdown to Christmas has officially begun.
  • There are plenty of songs, shows, and games out there to play this holiday season.
  • Below are the best video game-related media for you to enjoy this December.

The Christmas season is upon us. This is a time for Black Friday-induced debt and either surrounding or avoiding Holiday-centric media as much as possible. No matter which camp you fall into, you’ll find the season hard to ignore.

If you’re into the holidays enough that you want to fill every second with magic, it can be hard to find Christmas-themed stuff to do. Below we present the best video game-related Christmas media to fill your life with this December.

Christmas Video Game Music

Pokemon Christmas Bash

Yes. This is a real thing. Surprisingly for something Pokemon related, not that many people seem to know about this one. Pokemon Christmas Bash was a holiday-themed album released back in 2001. It features a bunch of mostly original songs with actual singing work done by the voice cast of the anime.

While the songs are of questionable quality, it is still fun to have some Pokemon Holiday songs. Also, Brock raps and it is as beautiful as it sounds. You can get the album on Spotify  and Amazon music  right now, so what are you waiting for?

Scarlet Moon Christmas (Vol. 1-4)

On a much classier note comes Scarlet Moon Christmas . Basically a mini-album featuring remixed video game music, this compilation comes out each year and is now on its fourth volume. While the latest offering doesn’t have high levels of Christmas spirit, it is much less annoying than the Pokemon album.

Christmas Video Game Specials

Christmas Comes to Pacland

If you’re at all a fan of cheesy specials and retro video games, then you’ve found your perfect match. The Pacman TV series of the 80s was pretty forgettable. The special is also pretty bland, featuring Pacman saving Santa, but it’s cheesy enough to be enjoyable all the same.

Sonic’s Christmas Blast

Back in the 90s, Sonic the Hedgehog had a lot of TV shows. By far the most insane was The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog . It was a cartoon that seemed to be aiming for Ren and Stimpy but landed closer to Squirrel and Stubs .

This special once again primarily just features Sonic saving Santa. The saving grace is that Jaleel White voices Sonic, which has some truly hilarious results at times.

Christmas Video Games

How the Saints Save Christmas

How the Saints Save Christmas

Possibly the best Christmas-related content for a video game out there, How the Saints Save Christmas is a piece of DLC for Saints Row IV. The plot revolves around Santa getting stuck in the earth simulation from the main game.

The saints have to try and convince their boss to help save him. The DLC is filled with parodies of classic Christmas specials and has the fun gameplay which makes Saints Row IV such a great game in the first place. Perfect.

Fork Parker’s Holiday Profits Hike

The best things in life are free and so is this game. Fork Parker’s Holiday Profits Hike is a game published by Devolver Digital and developed by Dodge Roll, the folks behind Enter the Gungeon. Fork Parker is the fictional CFO of Devolver Digital and in this game has to get profits up just before Christmas.

The game is out on Steam 100% free and is an action game that has you hiking up a mountain. You can shoot out grappling hooks and have to collect money while avoiding spikes. For a free game, it’s a lot of fun.

So there you have it, a definitive list of the best gaming-related Christmas media on the market. Keep yourself entertained this December.
