Sony Preps ‘Big F****** Line-Up’ for June PlayStation 5 Event – And We Believe It

According to the latest grapevine rumblings, Sony’s rumored early June PlayStation 5 event is primed to showcase a stacked roster of next-gen titles.
PS5 Event Promises a ‘Big’ Line-Up
Speaking during a stream late yesterday, YouTuber, Twitch streamer, and prominent personality in the fighting game community, Maximilian_DOOD, aka Maximilian Christiansen, touched on what they knew so far about the event .
Sony is reportedly gearing up to unleash what Christiansen colorfully describes as ‘a pretty big fucking line-up’ for the launch of the PlayStation 5 at the end of 2020.
During yesterday’s live stream, Maximilian_DOOD explained:
They’ve been working on games for a long time. It’s been rumored more and more now that Sony has a pretty big fucking line-up when it comes to the launch of their system. And we can back that up because that’s what me and Simmons [collaborator Matt Simmons] have been hearing from industry friends and things for years. I’ve been hearing that shit for literally two years.
Worldwide Studios’ Three-Year Silence
The notion that Sony has spent at least the last two years curating a line-up of PS5 games is certainly an enticing one, especially considering the pedigree of Sony’s Worldwide Studios.
To boot we’ve heard nothing about new in-development first-party titles for a while now, implying the shift of resources to next-gen PlayStation 5 games. The last announced Worldwide Studios game was Ghost of Tsushima, unveiled at the Paris Games Week back in October 2017 .
Touching on the credibility of the take, Christiansen has a proven track record of leaks and insider knowledge, notably when it comes to fighting games. Consequently, this one carries more weight than the run of the mill, anonymous leaks found, for example, on Reddit.
As for the date of the PlayStation 5 event, reputable sources such as VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb and Bloomberg News’ Jason Schreier continue to point to early to mid-June.
As has become all too common in recent months, the current crisis is likely to derail even the best-laid plans. Even these informed predictions might land as duds if Sony alters arrangements in the eleventh hour.
