Hive Launches Web Wallet

Hive, the wallet platform, is now available on the Web. Hive Web, a HTML5 web wallet, also incorporates  litecoin. Hive is already available for Android and OS X.

The wallet also fused hierarchical deterministic wallet capabilities, BIP32 and BIP39, into backend design. These additions boil down to increased security, privacy, and flexibility. It web wallet also boasts secure password generation.

meXBT Wins Pitch Competition

Latin American exchange meXBT won the Inside Bitcoins “pitch competition.” A panel of venture capitalist judges heard and judged the merits of a wide range of cryptocurrency startups. Entrepreneurs give rapid-fire talks on their startup projects in the bitcoin space.

The premier Latin American bitcoin exchange is currently in beta-launch. It allows the exchange of numerous cryptocurrencies. Its website reads:

“Providing digital currencies for serious traders and simple enough for beginners, meXBT’s goal is to provide the best and most secure service to traders of digital currencies.”

BTC.sx Launches Language Localization

BTC.sx, the bitcoin-only derivatives platform, is sinking its teeth into a global ecosystem with the launch of language localization services. International customers can now view the website in traditional Chinese, Polish, Russian, and Spanish. It might strike you as a strange assortment of languages to choose, especially considering cold responses from Chinese and Russian governments, but CEO George Samman noted that they delivered these services in response to demand.

The ‘Seedcoin’ thing

Seedcoin hopes to be at the root of incoming bitcoin services. The website reads:

The objective of Seedcoin is to invest in the creative entrepreneurs of the cryptocurrency economy and help them develop the future services, products and applications re-shaping the way we interact with money on a daily basis.

It aims to help underfunded startups with good ideas, with funding, as well as guidance. Each startup received somewhere between 100BTC and 500BTC. Seedcoin seems proud of what the funded startups have accomplished thus far.

According to the press release, Seedcoin also had a role in general startup-based events within Inside Bitcoins:

Seedcoin also spoke about the startup ecosystem during the panel discussions, and Eddy Travia, its Chief Startup Officer, was a judge of the startup pitch competition.

Seedcoin plans to incubate 15 startups in its first year. It recently raised 2,000 BTC for its second round of funding.
