Persona 5 Scramble has a demo out on the Nintendo Switch, but there's a catch: It's only available in Japan.
Persona 5 Scramble has a demo out, but only in Japan. Luckily, that doesn’t matter for Nintendo Switch owners.
The new P5S demo is playable by anyone that owns a Nintendo Switch. All they have to do is create a Japanese account on the system. This must be separate from their regular account.
Gamers that do this will be able to access the Japanese eShop for the Nintendo Switch. From there, it’s as simple as searching for the Persona 5 Scramble demo and downloading it.
This may be the best bet for Persona 5 fans who want to play the full game early. It still doesn’t have a release date outside of Japan but will be launching in the country on Feb. 20.
The Japanese Switch account can be used to purchase the game when it launches. Just remember that the game will be in Japanese, which may be a hurdle for some players.
Persona 5 Scramble will be coming out on the PlayStation 4 too. There isn’t a demo available for the PS4 version yet, but it should be out soon.
PS4 gamers that want to try out Persona 5 Scramble early will need to jump through the same hoops as Switch owners. Creating a Japanese PSN account will give them access to that country’s online store.
Just like with the Switch, PS4 owners can use this same account to purchase the PlayStation 4 version of Persona 5 Scramble when it comes out.
Here’s hoping we get news about a U.S. release date for P5S soon! Until then, fans can keep pestering Atlus about a Persona 3 remake.
