  • A new video catalogs the complete game library of PlayStation 2.
  • It features more than 4,000 games and lasts for almost 12 hours.
  • YouTuber Virtual Gaming Library – VGL is also planning to catalog PlayStation 1 games.

Cataloging every single PlayStation 2 game that has ever come out may seem like an impossible task, but YouTuber Virtual Gaming Library – VGL has done it!

A new video titled “The PlayStation 2 Project – All 4,218 PS2 Games (US/EU/JP)” collects clips from every game in the console’s library. Each clip only lasts for about 10 seconds.

The Video Covers PlayStation 2 Games From Every Region

Even after limiting the time for each individual PlayStation 2 game to just 10 seconds, the video still clocks in at 11 hours, 42 minutes and 8 seconds.

That’s an incredible amount of time to spend watching the video. Luckily, viewers can use the five-second skip option built into YouTube to cut this down a bit further.

VGL notes that not all the games have their audio present in the video. That’s due to copyright issues. Unfortunately, that results in more than 200 titles being muted.

VGL Wants to Catalog Original PlayStation Games Too

Looking through the video, it’s amazing to see all the different games that came out on PlayStation 2. That’s especially true for anyone that’s never seen some of the games that were locked to different regions of the world.

While this momentous task is nothing to sneeze at, VGL isn’t stopping here. The YouTuber says that they are working to create a complete video collection of PlayStation 1 games. There are also plans for a video catalog of every Nintendo DS game as well.

VGL is doing amazing work by cataloging the complete game libraries of consoles. Go give their channel a look  and maybe subscribe as well to help support efforts like these.
