It’s Thursday, and we all know what that means – Epic Games Store freebie day.
This time around, Games Store users can pick up a copy of Carcassonne and Ticket to Ride , two digital board games from developer Asmodee Digital.
While we’ve known since last week that they were on the way, you can now claim them by signing up for a free Epic Games Store account. They are then yours to keep forever, or at least for the lifetime of the digital storefront. Going by recent reports from Epic, the Games Store is going from strength to strength. It won’t be disappearing anytime soon.
Epic initially promised three games for today, but viral outbreak management sim, Pandemic, was axed earlier this week due to coronavirus concerns.
Epic Games has also raised the curtain on next week’s freebies. One of them is probably the heftiest title to hit the store since the freebie bonanza began in late 2018 – Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
That’s not to say the selection to date lacks quality. On the contrary, Epic has adopted a shrewd policy of releasing quality games like Hype Light Drifter, Celeste, and Inside. But, Warhorse Studios’ sweeping RPG set in medieval Bohemia is the type of game you can easily sink 50 hours into.
Aztez accompanies Kingdom Come: Deliverance next week. Here’s the official blurb for those interested;
Aztez is a unique hybrid of beat ’em up and turn-based strategy, set in the world of the Aztec Empire. Highly technical, real-time, beat-em-up combat events resolve ongoing conflicts in your expanding empire.
As always, this week’s duo of Carcassonne and Ticket to Ride are available right now until 4 PM GMT/ 8 AM PST next Thursday.
