  • Stadia Buddy Pass feature rolled out last week.
  • Founder’s Edition owner is offering their Buddy Pass in exchange for donating blood.
  • The offer is still available as of writing.

Despite a shaky launch, there’s still a lot of interest in Google’s Stadia cloud streaming platform. While not everyone is prepared to fork out the odd $130 required for a Premier Edition bundle, Google started rolling out its Buddy Pass feature last week .

A Buddy Pass allows anyone who has a Founder’s Edition to grant access to Stadia and a three month trial of Stadia Pro to a friend, family member, or even a complete stranger.

A Pint of Blood For Three Months of Stadia Pro

One such Founder’s Edition owner has taken it upon themselves to prompt interested parties to do some good in exchange for their Buddy Pass .

The Reddit user, going by the name baltinerdist, explains;

I’ve got a buddy pass burning a hole in my pocket, so I’m going to share it in exchange for saving three lives. First person to take a selfie from a blood donor chair with their username on a scrap of paper gets my buddy pass.

The hope is that this charitable incentive will prompt others with a Stadia Buddy Pass to spare to follow suit. The idea is to trigger an ‘r/Stadia blood drive’ as this benevolent stranger puts it.

Offer Still Available

baltinerdist specified that participants must donate blood to a volunteer blood center rather than ‘selling plasma to pay for RDR2’ to avoid any sly opportunists gaming the offer. The Redditor even goes so far as to offer help finding a local donor center for those unsure how to go about donating blood.

baltinerdist penned the post about eight hours ago. So, there’s still plenty of time if tempted by free access to Stadia for a bit of much-needed blood.

We’ve kept on eye on the Reddit thread, and no one has yet to produce the required photographic proof as of writing.
