Donald Trump vs Silicon Censors: President Fights Back Against Liberal Social Media

By CCN.com: President Donald Trump has made the first move in the fightback against internet and social media censorship. The White House just launched a website inviting U.S citizens to share their stories of censorship by Silicon Valley’s tech giants.

Kicked Off Social Media? Tell Daddy Trump!

The website app, labelled the Tech Bias Story Sharing Tool , urges citizens to share their personal stories of censorship on social media. Regardless of the nature of the individual’s views, posts or politics, the user is invited to ‘tell Trump’. The website states:

“No matter your views, if you suspect political bias caused such an action to be taken against you, share your story with President Trump.”

In what amounts to perhaps the first retaliation against Silicon Valley since they went full-SJW, the tool is a reminder that foundational principles, such as freedom of speech, won’t be given up lightly. The website states:

“SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS should advance FREEDOM OF SPEECH. Yet too many Americans have seen their accounts suspended, banned, or fraudulently reported for unclear “violations” of user policies.”

This comes just hours after President Trump rejected calls to censor the internet  in the wake of the events surrounding the Christchurch Massacre in New Zealand.

White House Says No to Christchurch Censorship

Politicians from New Zealand and France drafted a proposal which demands countries ‘improve their moderation practices’. The White House stated that it agrees with the need to crack down on terrorist activity, but that large scale censorship is not the best way to achieve it. The White House response read:

“We continue to be proactive in our efforts to counter terrorist content online while also continuing to respect freedom of expression and freedom of the press. Further, we maintain that the best tool to defeat terrorist speech is productive speech, and thus we emphasize the importance of promoting credible, alternative narratives as the primary means by which we can defeat terrorist messaging.”

The news has already produced a sour reaction on left-wing news sites, which claim the President is more interested in policing anti-conservative bias than ‘hate speech’.

Meanwhile, pundits and commentators on the right see this as the first step in Donald Trump’s bid to build a legal case against Silicon Valley oligarchs.

Site Crashes Within Hours as Victims of Censorship Flock to Trump

The prospect of dishing out dirt on the social media censors apparently proved very enticing in the past twenty-four hours. The website link posted by the White House twitter feed is now already ‘unavailable’ – perhaps caused by the influx of commenters from the r/The_Donald reddit page.

News of President Trump’s fightback against social media went down particularly well there – with the associated post receiving over 7,500 upvotes and almost 500 comments in little over twelve hours.

Yet the truth is that social media censorship affects everybody – not just supporters of Donald Trump. In the U.K , it is now the police’s job to visit people’s homes and ‘correct their attitude’ when an offensive post on social media is reported. The country that invented freedom of speech has been overrun.

Here’s hoping President Trump’s war against Silicon Valley can halt that decline. God bless America.
