The “WAP” rapper recently sat down with Democratic hopeful Joe Biden to discuss, amongst other things, his ticket’s platform ahead of the November 2020 presidential election.
Not only did she hold her own quite well, but she continues to show people — fans and detractors alike — that she’s a lot smarter than anyone gives her credit for.
Cardi B Has Always Been ‘Woke’
Cardi B is making waves thanks to interviewing Joe Biden, who looks to be the presumptive Democratic nominee.
The 15-minute conversation features the “Bodak Yellow” rapper navigating adeptly through a myriad of topics, such as Medicare for all, free college tuition, the COVID-19 pandemic, and of course, Donald Trump.

It’s fair to say that the woman born Belcalis Almanzar isn’t Diane Sawyer or Barbara Walters. But, it’s also fair to say that she’s actually more relatable, not less so, than those legendary journalists.
“Very Relatable”
In his interview with the superstar, Joe Biden made clear that what Cardi B was asking for was not only plausible but very relatable. He also made clear that he could understand her desire to create a better world for her daughter because he is a parent, like her.
Prior to her chat with Joe Biden, she chatted with Bernie Sanders about his platform and detailed all the ways that Donald Trump is — in a word — terrible .
The question of why this is so remarkable, of course, begs itself. Why is it so impossible to believe that a woman can rap about the juiciness of her female parts, and also be politically aware?
Perhaps Cardi B isn’t a traditional feminist icon, but she certainly proves that anything is possible.
