  • Bluepoint Games teases next project with cryptic seasonal tweet.
  • References to remakes of Demon Souls, Metal Gear Solid, and The Legend of Dragoon.
  • Hints at possible announcement.

Right on cue, Bluepoint Games has once again taken to Twitter to pen an opaque seasonal rhyme to tease its next as-yet-unannounced project . The Shadow of the Colossus developer proffered up a similar tweet for Halloween and Thanksgiving.

Bluepoint Games Teases

Bluepoint Games’ tweet reads as follows accompanied by a cat drawn to frantic head movements to catch a miniature Santa hat perched on its head;

‘Twas the night before, excitement mounts
In stealthily wrapped boxes creatures stirred for announce
Hope for adventure and victory spread
Visions of heroes enhanced in their heads
We sprang forth to play, exclaimed at the sight
Happy gaming to all, there’ll be no sleep tonight!

Once again, the wording is ambiguous. In many ways, the tease is ideal. Depending on what game you want to see remade, you can read into it and find apposite hints.

The six-line poem harks to stealth, heroes, and adventure, pointing to remakes of Demon Souls, The Legend of Dragoon, and Metal Gear Solid. Bluepoint’s earlier cryptic tweets also made pretty explicit references to all three titles.

A ‘stealthy wrapped box’ has to be Metal Gear Solid and Snake’s iconic use of a cardboard box to traverse particularly well-guarded areas. Adventure, victory, and heroes could be Demon Souls and Legend of Dragoon in equal measure.

A Forthcoming Announcement?

More interestingly, the rhyme includes the word ‘announce,’ which has onlookers expecting an official unveiling from Bluepoint in the not too distant future .

As has become a familiar facet of the reactions to Bluepoint’s teases, it’s best not to look too much into it. Bluepoint Games clearly relishes the chance to mess with eager fans and is pilling it on with each successive pass.

With that said, we wouldn’t be opposed to Bluepoint Games orchestrating an announcement sooner rather than later. Demon Souls, please.
