Ubisoft worse kept secret suffers yet another leak thanks to a rough-looking Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake promotional banner.

After leaks hinting at the existence of a Prince of Persia remake surfaced in recent months, we now have firm confirmation that the game does indeed exist. And, there’s a lot to be worried about from a visual point of view.
The latest leak comes courtesy of photos of a banner snapped from the Russian version of Ubisoft’s Uplay platform by an observant Resetera forum user.
The banner clearly reveals the game’s full title, putting to bed speculation around what entry in the franchise was landing the remake-treatment from Ubisoft. Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time it is.
Apart from confirming the title and signaling yet another unintentional slip up from the exceedingly leak-prone Ubisoft, the banner has fans up in arms.
As you can see, the new visual style, which is arguably worse than the original Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time, leaves itself open to some easy criticism thanks chiefly to some questionable character model choices. It’s pretty rough and not exactly what you’d expect from a game in 2020, even a remake.
Other eagle-eyed fans subsequently emerged from the woodwork with the full animated banner in hand, swiftly sharing their findings on social media. The animated version doesn’t do it any favors, either.
Fortunately, the banner art may not do the game justice. A leaked shot of what appears to be the title screen for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake surfaced on Reddit a few hours back. Reassuringly, it showcases a much more polished style, infinitely more appealing than the banner shots.
Furthermore, analyst and purveyor of ever-reliable industry nuggets, Daniel Ahmad, took to Twitter to say that the game ‘looks much better,’ noting ‘this is such a bad way for the game to leak.’
All this commotion points towards Ubisoft gearing up to reveal Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time later today during the Ubisoft Forward showcase. A promotional shot for the event even includes a puzzle from the original game, spotted almost immediately by series fans. It’s seems inevitable at this point.
